Having just spent large parts of the weekend playing Civ IV in hotseat mode, I have to agree with you guys - this game would be perfect for multiplayer fun, and though I understand some of the arguments against it (mainly shipbuilding), I do remember enjoying Space Empires IV (which also took ages to play) in hotseat mode as well. IMO, pretty much all turn based strategy games should, at the very least, have a hotseat mode.
It should be pretty obvious to everyone that the poster at the Starforce-forums wasn't trying to hurt Stardock, but rather show proof that the game is being widely pirated. Yes, it was a very unprofessional thing to do, but this was the actions of one person and not the entire company, and I'm pretty sure there was no ill intent. It's also worth noting that Starforce has officially apologized for what happened, and removed the post from their forum (a fact I'm sure most news sites and
8/10 is a fair score for this game, IMO. Now that the enthusiastic early reviews are done with, I think we'll see quite a few 8/10-scores and even some 7/10-scores.
