FYI, Nvidia can do it too (and I assume ATI), I play the same way across two monitors. You merely need to use "horizontal span" mode instead of dual-view mode. And too bad the dialog is not like a windows dialog where it can go on one monitor or the other, its Stardocks GUI and it sits right in the center unfortunately. Its still lovely playing on two screens tho. I would love it if you could figure out how to change the Desktop-X to make the dialog sit to the side. I poked at it mys

Ditto here. upgrading starting from the bare hull is a bummer. Idea for the next patch: In addition to starting an upgrade from the last configuration let us have a small dropdown under each existing component listing alternate choices for that component series. For instance if you've got a Laser Mark II, but you've researched up to Laser mark IV, the dropdown would show lasers Mark II, III, and IV as choices to swap. Anyone like?
I am sure it would be a lot of work to get independant views on the second monitor. But I bet there's a lot of people just running in "horizontal span" mode so the game sees them together as one wiiide monitor. Seems like anyone who knew something about desktopX could readjust the window positions to help out the folks using spanned monitors. Even with the dialog windows in the center, the game still is awesome on dual monitors!
In such case they could just block the tree at some point but no. Don't say that this is impossible since they did this with shieled technology. I think this is the best idea! Let people research up to laser II for instance. If they make it to laser II, then they can start with laser
I successfully got it working, by using "span horizontal" mode (nivida card) and then editing the INI file that contains the resolution for GalCiv to use. The main screen looks beyond awesome. The videos are stretched but its not that bad. The real problem for me was that the tools and conversations are smack dab in the center where the monitors join. If someone with DesktopX talent made a new skin that moved this stuff off-center, then it
Yes, its an I-cant-make-it-myself-so-please-make-it-for-me post. How about a custom skin for dual screen users, I sucessfully played the game with a resolution of 3200x1600 in horizontal span mode, but all the buttons, dialogs etc are smack dab in the middle where the screens split. If they were offset to one monitor, then the game would be uber-cool on two screens!!! I a
OK.. I should have RTFm. you cant upgrade the core designs. Still it would be nice to be able to see whats on them for learning purposes.
Is it possible to view the details of new (core) ship designs when they become avalable? So far the only way I can see to view the details of a design is to Upgrade it in the designer. But for some reason this button is grayed out for me on a newly avialable design. thanks!
