Is there any guides that explain the differences in the various racial tech trees? I've found graphs of them online but if you don't know the techs that doesn't help much and it doesn't really explain the differences. I've read some forum entries and it sounds like curtain trees cost more for some items as well as are missing techs so those trees can't get as many bonuses in some reason. So I was wondering if there was a break down of the various trees giving b

While tring to understand some of the XML and correct a few obvious over sites like more advanced buildings have LESS bonus then previous ones I noticed something on farms. First off the Last 2 farms give the SAME amount of food production which when I saw this ingame was like HUH?! WTH? Secound was I noticed there are 2 higher farms in the improvements file that don't appear in the game. They require Tech FOUR and FIVE yet the farming tech only goes up to THREE ingame?
Yea I know they should make the infulance areas be like in Civ 4. They are boarders of your empire are also the culture/infulance reach. So unless you have like an alliance with the AI they can't come in your area and you can't go into theirs. Other wise it could spark a war.
I haven't tried planet stealing but I've had it happen to me when an AI was fighting the same empire as me. I got so pissed I demanded the planet in Diplomatic chat but when they refused I declared war on them took it and several others before they begged for peace.
The problem with Tactical Combat in strategy games like MOO2/GalCiv/Etc. is that it's to easy to exploit. Once the players figure out how the AI behaves they can easily take advantage of it and do things the AI would never think of or be able to counter. One thing that often happens is the Hit and Run tactic. Ships are loaded with missles and the player fired them off while falling back to the edge of the map out of attack range of the AI. This was a HUGE bug in MOO3 when players designed ships
I built like 5 well developed Econ starbases around a single planet just for fun and see how high I could get it's production. When I checked I noticed that Miltary and Social had shot up a lot but the R&D hadn't increased. Now if they aren't suppose to increase it that's fine but they say in their text that they increase M,S, and R.
If your not building someone why do you have to keep spending money to keep up production. I've checked this and there is suppose to be () around something and it not causing an expense when there is nothing cued up. Yet when I had 5 planets and nothing in any of them for social the income sheet said I was spending 60 bc on social. I've never seen social have a () around the number I don't think it checks and that extra expense is wasting money need else where.
