Version 1.50.090 is the latest version of the main game, GalCivII. Version 1.50.059 like GreenReaper stated above is the latest version of the expansion pack. The older game will usually have more updates, hence a higher version number.

Sorry if this has been discussed already. If I build two military starbases so that their radius of influence overlap, and one has a defensive ship assist +4 for all categories and the other starbase has a defensive ship assist in one category that is, say, +1 will my ships that are stationed in the overlapping radii get an additive ship assist (i.e., +4, +4, +5)? Or if I have two that have +4 all categories will it be +8, +8, +8? I guess the
I noticed that on easier difficulty levels < normal I was able to pretty much get away with not trading with other civs. On normal difficluty and above, it seems that you MUST trade or all the other civs will come at you-- good or evil. Other than extra income from the trade revenue why does it seem that you HAVE to trade or set up lots of trade routes? Hey all, First off, I want to say that this is a great game with great support from the developers. I have a question about what the A.I. is doing when I adjust the difficulty level from Beginner to Normal. I've played through four games on beginner using several methods to achive victory (i.e., technological, military, etc.) . I won pretty easily each time...yes, I know that not all A.I. algorithms were churning at the time to crush me....but I felt that I had (have) a pretty go
