Hmm, I agree with these as well. There are good things that come out of being good as well, right? Like, the good races ally against a bad foe, etc.? I seem to have read that somewhere...

Think of it this way, if you get a good combo advantage of weapon/defense and win a battle against the AI, with cheap upgrades the next turn you could be facing an entire fleet of AI ships configured just to right to beat your winning design. Best damn explanation I have read in this whol
Yeah, while I did get this mission on my first try as well, getting the most planets I could get with colony ships from the get go, there were times when I looked for an option to sort of "ask help" from my allies to actually attack enemy targets and not just sit around. Well, as time went by they did attack the Dreadlords as well, but coordinated attacks between alliances should have been a great sight to behold!
@Draginol, Did the different AI win by different Victory conditions?
Actually, the starbase defenses get applied only when you have "at least" a 1 defense in any category... I don't agree with it as well but I guess they made it that way for balance purposes. It's just not realistic this way. I could agree that a Starbase only improves Attack if a ship has at least 1 Attack in any category... but not Defense. I mean, if a starbase has an area shield why do I still need a shield on my ships for that to work,
My Campaign saves would still be intact after patching though, right? Or at the very least I could restart my current Campaign mission if the save game isn't compatible?
Yeah I'll have to finish my current Single Player mission first seeing as this patch will effectively remove my ship designs...
Well the WIKI entry on Approval states that it only affects population growth, and ratings when you enter into more advanced governments. No mention of production effects.
Poor rodents...
Great work! I always knew this game would do well... but the numbers indeed surprised us all!
Or can we have it as a wallpaper for download? It's THAT GOOD.
