Spin-center or whatever its called needs to be pushed back farther on the diplomacy techs or make it farthest on the planet defense tech.
I dissagree with 1 basic farm per planet, the only exception is 20+ planets, i had a population of 29,000 and was making 500+ bc per turn on that planet alone with tax rate near 40%
they sort of are scanning the planets when they come in sensor range about the class of the planet.
there is a bug being fixed that when someone takes over a world they will have a population of gigantic billions of people, after 3 turns it goes to the planet max.

To me this a one of those games that you keep coming back to. I do it all the time to Civ4, and i will be coming back to this too. Change things up a bit, play some FPS or real time strats then come back, change is good once in awhile.
I think you need to change the SPIN CONTROL CENTER to a tech farther out. Even with the low weapon classes the AI wil think your a god, which is the point of the spin control center. I hardly ever see an AI build one till WAY late in the game, which usually does not last that long because i was able to either A) culture victory or B) political victory.
have you tried the largest hull to see if there is a difference? On small and medium hulls they might have the same stats.
'Realistically', what Djohaal said makes a lot of sense. Sure, you can see each other on sensors, but this is at HUGE distance, while both fleets are still (theoretically) light-hours (at the least) apart, either stopped or moving at FTL speeds. Combat obviously occurs once one fleet jumps to regular space near the op
I disagree with this. There should be no adavantage of a suprise attack because they are in space! You can see EVERYTHING around you. Now if you had a tech of Stealth, i can see this happening. For right now i think this is a minor issue that needs some more comments. What do you all think about the attackers advantage?
