I was refering to 1.1beta, thought it was obvious enough that beta1.1 is the only beta being discussed on these forums because every 2nd thread is about it and thats why i didnt mention 1.1 beta.

just to make it clear... in normal pre-beta galciv: social is spent even when you arent building anything. social=waste. in beta: social is redirected to military(which either isnt spent(no ships being built) or goes to the ship making), the display doesnt always show this, but you can easily test that it works this way. heres simple example how to prove it: start a game put something in social queue and notice spending of that planet goe
oh an example of the above algorithm to surrendering is the following: The yor and you are both attacking the humans. The humans decide to surrender in turn 403, because they have under 15 pop. Between turn 353-403 you destroyed 33% of the humans population and the yor destroyed 64% of the humans population(not 100% together cause 15 human pop still left). The yor destroyed more pop in the last ~50 turns and for that reason the humans surrendered to the yor
just make it so surrender is actually surrendering, the one that actually means surrendering. 1- the a.i will only surrender to the people who are at war with it 2- the a.i will surrender to the player which did the most dmg to it in the last z turns before the a.i surrenders. 2- the a.i will only surrender when its down to x pop or y planets. atm the algorithm behind surrendering is too random and stupid, Iv seen some galciv2 players actually think that surrender
guess the OP never ever heard of moo2 at all(not suggesting moo2 had all the original ideas, but it was the first game to use them in the best way), since otherwise he wouldnt even ask that question. moo2 came out before imperium galactica 1
It was a good game, but i am sorely regretting i bought it now. space invaders was the best space game I have ever played, you have a long way to go, but keep up the good work.
you can always easily expand the network one factor that the Op didnt mention is that you can kill over hundreds of ships that might be 3 times as good as your ships(excluding the starbase bonus that makes your ships sooo good) and barely take any dmg = farming enemies =>have fleets with massive amounts of hp.
wow, so many ppl miss the point completely, like over 66% of the replies against balancing yor are from ppl saying "dont whine about loosing to yor", "fairness is only neccessary when theres mp involved", "if you think yor are too good and want an easy fight, then dont choose them as an enemy" the point is that most players who to do well on the metaverse are choosing yor, it doesnt take rocket science to figure that out and that theres a reason they take yor and yes it does disupt th
just turn off "show influence" in minimap options untill you feel like your allowed to.
another scenario that your not taking into account from the many: one guy stayed with tiny hull and has much better wpns, while the other guy went hull research. I still think huge will usually win, even stardock admitted that huge will usually beat tiny. the real problem with tiny is the following 10 tinies each doing 3 dmg, will not beat 1 huge with 9 def and 3 dmg.
gave me timeout error when I first submitted, but I guess it submitted anyway.
surrendering in gc2 is stupid. surrendering occurs when you dont wanna be slaughtered by whoevers killing you. -the a.i shouldnt surrender to its allies. -the a.i should only surrender to the enemy that did the most dmg to it, or to an allie of the enemy that did the most dmg.
some of the above posters didnt understand the OP. when you choose yor and reset the racial points so you have 10 points to spend on pop/researc/luck...., you still get the yor's base 8 logistics and 25% minituration..... no other race starts with a base bonus as good as this.
social bonus is a tax not a bonus.... anything is better than social bonus atm.
shadow just ignore hereticked. he first states how bad the game is cause it crashes every 15 minutes and how theres TOONNNS of bugs. the reason its crashing every 15 minutes is his fault, so later on he has to start claiming the game is full of gameplay bugs, and can only list 1(iv found 2 myself). most likely the other bug with the starport is the fact he didnt know how to demolish structures.... hereticked:"now instead of posting this if the game did
some of you(this is directed towards the OP and many other posters who never read news and post whats already mentioned) need to read the gc2 news -press home and scroll down.. the OP got the info from a site which got the info from this site.
lol this gave me an idea for a starcontrol 2 scenario mod. you start in a precursor ship and have a survey module and a few primitive wpns/armor/engine, later on you do objectives and return to the starbase and based on what you did, you can get anomoly that adds new tech. anomoly that adds more bc. the only way to design a better ship is via getting new upgrades and the only one to upgrade your ship is to use the bc you aquire and click on upgrade. <br
nm, was just a buggy game so for some reason it didnt kick in even though it was supposed to be. also to shadow, I know that defense means u hit 2nd, but not being able to form fleets and only being able to hit second is a huge penalty, but nm I did some checking and it seems it was a bugged savegame(I started a new game with same race and tried many turns and the ships seem ok in everyspot).
its true that if your evil your more likely to be ganged up on (if theres the same number of good, neutral and evil) and on higher difficulties, going against a few cpus at the same time is hard. so evil dont have it as easy as many ppl assume...
the UI and ingame documentation needs help. ingame documentation = non existant. UI issues -doing stuff with individual ships while they are in fleets is not possible at all(to upgrade a ship you gotta disband the fleet). -some windows need to be changed to make the game go faster. -going in and out of specific windows has to be smoother. im sure some UI mod or stardock will change this. a theme I see on this forum is ppl flaming posters who dont li
when the yor arrive this will be their first sentence. 1010111-1100101 1100001-1110010-1100101 1110100-1101000-1100101 1101101-1100001-1100011-1110100-1101001-1101110-1100101-1110011
once u get advanced troop modules you can put tons on one ship and that will be tons troops on 1 cargo ship(I forgot the exact number) and tons on massive hull.
certain races(yor and custom) start off with 8 logistics, so they easily get 11 with only the first basic logistic tech.
iv had ships with over 400 hp, theres also a way to repair them to 100% instantly(but it costs money). so an exploit is to make sure your ships all get low on hp at around the same time(low as in 100/300 or so) and then upgrade all of them to the same model or better model and this repair them and go into -50k, but it becomes -2k next week and it only takes few weeks to get back to no debt if your economy is stable.
lol its so buggy, that at one point I was at war with an enemy and I never encountered any of its ships till i got to his homeworld, next to its homeworld were over 70 unfleeted ships all stuck there, he didnt use them at all, I just farmed them to make my massive ships have over 400hp each. oh this is most likely a rally bug.
