I dunno about 6.3, but last time I checked drivers newer than 5.12 had on advantages for non-X1000 cards, and the 5.12 drivers themselves had some negative performance advantages for low end cards (might be wrong there). For drivers, most of the time its best to hold off upgrading, atleast at first. Check review websites and see what they say, some of them will give very good reasons to hold of upgrading your drivers.
Maybe some form of telekinesis detection? In which you register you mental brain pattern .... ok, stardock's solution is best.
Any DX9 compatible video card should work, so Nvidia series 5000, equivilent, or better.
I'd be thinking that some events are inherantly bad, like a food shortage or a plague. The only way to profit from bad events is to take the evil path, extort, seek personal gain, etc. But events that are neutral, like capturing pirates or finding a derelict ship, can have advantages both good, neutral and evil, depending on how much of your soul you plan to give up.

All you really need is a DX9 video card. Unfortuneatly I'm not sure if your's is DX9 compatible (search on google maybe?) But if it is, you should be able to play. Since GC2 is turn based, and very flexible graphically, you should be able to run it decently. Heck, GC1 runs fine on a 2D 1994 matrox card, provided your video card is DX9 compatable GC2 should work fine. Or atleast thats what I've heard. I'm still trying to resurect my friends dead 6600GT.

Wouldn't nebulae thick enough block sensors? As in, wouldn't the photons from one side of a nebula be screwed up enough by the time they get to the other side to have rendered the information useless? Like trying to peice together an image that is half missing? Or do nebulae generally not get thick enough to block enough light? Still, it would be a nice feature, an extra dimension to tactics. Might also be fun to make it that planets/suns sensors.
I guess I'm lucky when it comes to the credit card thing, seeing as my mum couldn't care less as long as I pay her back, but my current video card can be summed up by saying that the company disappeared from mainstream as soon as 3D graphics appeared.
I'd buy it digitally, specifically because stores here tend to overcharge. Instead of $45 USD = $70 AUD, I'd expect to be handing over an extra $30. Is paying $30 extra worth having to go down to the store? The lure of a box and printed manual is tempting, but if like me you need a new video card, that $30 could be much better spent.
Maybe its something to do with your hardware? Lack of full H&T lighting or some missing DX9 features. That or for some reason its turned off in your copy of GC2.
