I for one am looking forward to a multiplayer option. Not PBEM though. Stardock can tally my purchase right now.

A Starblazer mod sounds awesome, used to watch that show when I was kid all the time. Wonder if we can add a "Wave motion gun" to the tech tree .
I only look at ads if there's a picture of a pretty girl on it or it has actual in game screenshots. Maybe get Cari to do a bikini layout holding a collector's edition box .
anyone play test with modded range values to reduce expansion rates at the beginning of the game?
I concur. Is this editable in the XML files now?
Starting positions have a HUGE influence on how the races (including yourself) fair.
Yep, the AI is pretty good in 1.0X, at least it makes me think about what i'm doing early to mid game. Can't wait till 1.1 comes out and challenges us further.
Rally points can be moved! Woohoo!
PC Gamer and Starforce are in league whith each other, thats why it only got an 83%... my theory anyway
Dont build farms until you see your population is closing in on the max for that planet quality, otherwise that farm tile is basically idle for a long time when it could be used for a econ building.
Good points, I vote to put social back into the treasury... it just makes more sense.
You should be rewarded for building ships of larger size since you took the time to research the hull tech. If you have a fleet of larger ships you should always be able to easily beat a fleet of smaller ships given the same logistics and weapons/shield levels.
bump, great idea
2 words, "Bring it!"
Omega drivers work great on my 2 year old Viao with the 9000.
Sounds awesome! Would like to see what enhancements will be made to the AI once you guys get that nailed down (planet utilization, ship design). Also, the specialized planet bonuses are interesting but you should have the net bonus be zero. ie, if you are specializing in research have +6% there but -3% in social and military. You should always have tradeoffs not just positives. That would also eliminate the need for the balanced planet category. Will these new categories be us
Assuming no bonuses 100 million people produce 1 BC at 100% tax rate. So at 50% tax 1 BILLION poeple would produce 5 BCs.
Post your strategies, then we can review/comment. Tech trading with races is very important for income, make sure you have a decent diplomacy skill. 100% approval rating doubles the growth rate of population, good thing to remember for the start of the game when you can run your empire off the 5000 BCs you get initially. Rushing for the best worlds is HUGE in the beginning of the game, read the forums for ideas on how to maximize your expansion. I'm finding that the AI on intelligent is good
Excellent posts guys, I'm sure the devs will get a handle on this quickly. I've played about 10 gmaes now and this issue is my biggest gripe right now.... still... it's a stellar game!!
I tend to agree. It seems the planets are underutilized by the AI. You'll notice they dont always build a factory on a production bonus tile or a lab on a research bonus tile. AI probably needs a few tweeks. I've been playing with all the AI set to intelligent too.
I'd also like to know if you can change their size, would be cool to see a gigantic red giant that your ships had to "go around", might even be strategic if its large enough.
Watch list is broke too, there are better forum codes out there.. hopefully all will be resolved soon.
rubber baby buggy BUMPers
At least hide the other civilizations influence zones. I don't think they should hide the stars though, you can see stars from a long way a way in real life ... heck, you can even tell if planets are orbiting them with todays technology.
