Holy shit, Blass, I don't think english is your first language! LoL, just messing with you. I agree, I would like to see a more advanced ground combat module...but I am not frothing at the mouth for it. Nothing strategic, just maybe something that takes the various Civ races and makes them a touch different.
Insomniac
I never liked the idea of no tech trading, I just wanted the AI to be less generous with inter-AI trading. Besides that, I have been very happy with the game so far. The posters that are freaking out right now with their 'OmG, gamez brok' crap are funny; SDC is sure to implement even more patches that improve the game. So far they have done more work to their game after I bought it then I have ever had done before. I have had BF
It seems that people swing both ways on this subject. I like the current feature. And the way the post was initially posted...it made my head hurt. With rage.
LoL, fan fiction is sometimes fun to read. You love it, Skam240, you just shuddup and read.
I dunno, I don't 'turtle' completely, but I often use military starbases to protect good planets or planet clusters. Letting the enemy strike where he thinks you are weak is actually a pretty slick strat, I like the first posters idea. However, sounds like it would be too slow for me, in the long run.
The Yor. I hate the Yor. Stomp them every game that I can, and I constantly support their enemies. Dunno why. Maybe I just dislike machine people. *Terminator music...*
In order to get the most out of your war efforts, make sure that you strike quickly. If you can't do a blitzkrieg style attack, make sure that you take the GOOD planets that you can reach...that way when he surrenders, you won't be giving a potential rival phat planets.
Reading this post made me, at first, want to rage against Daver33 for being a fuckeroo. But then some other fellows put him in his place, so I am just gonna lend my support: Please learn to play the game, and if you can't...find another game to play. 20-30 turns for a customized ship? It sounds like you haven't even clicked into your planets and BUILT ANYTHING to support your hapless colonists. Sucks to be them. Blaming the ga
Cuz that would be fun. Not really.
I generally fight to the end for my planet's, but I have been forced to surrender them to a more powerful enemy...in the hopes of getting them back intact. After all, the AI does tend to damage your planet to guarantee that they will capture it.
Agreed, that would be a fantastic feature. After all, who is the UP's? Aren't they the politicians behind all the Civs? The UP should be less random and more directed by the AI and the player.
I play on Tough, as well, and the last game I played had the Drengin and the Yor allying-before I had even given them the tech, one of them must have teched to Alliances-and thrashing on the Arceans, who at the time controlled a significant portion of the galaxy. With both evil races united, they quickly thrashed the Arceans and split the worlds amongst themselves. I couldn't really get involved, being half a map away on a Huge galaxy, but I sent wor
Silent Storm tickled me, as well; I loved the destructable levels. Nothing better than raping an entire building with extended HMG bursts and having the front of it collapse into smoke and dust. 'Course, the AI in that game was sad, but the graphics almost made up for it.
Never considered that. Do people market games and the like CHEAPER to POORER countries? Not trying to be racist or whatever, just never thought of that. Whoa, now that I think about it, everything in Canada is more expensive than the US. Does that make Canada a RICHER country than the US? LoL, kind of a strange way to look at things. I'll be quiet, now.
I agree with the above poster; don't go out of your way to change your game because of a vocal minority. And I truly feel that all the people bitching on the forums about how things could be better if you did it a certain way, are that; a minority. Most people who are satisfied with product don't write thank you notes or anything...they just use the flipping product. People who dislike a product, however, will break their goddamn leg trying to compl
LoL, I tend to name planets, starbases, and big freaking ships. My fighters are just that, fighters; who cares what their pilots call them? LoL. I did name a tiny hulled fighter that got a crapload of exp and bonus HP, though; little bastard could smoke a pair of frigates all by himself. Cool to see.
I agree with the above poster; at least on normal and tough, the AI doesn't blow past me in tech unless I do something wrong. I do agree that you should constantly trade tech with the computer, at least as long is it isn't weapons tech, and make sure that if you give one AI a goodie, you sell it to EVERYONE. Cause they will, guaranteed. That's your money, in their pocket, if you fail to take advantage of it.
If you are doing the same cheese tactic over and over and wondering why it isn't fun...stop cheesing the AI. Get on a bigger map, at least large, and throw all the AI's in at Intelligent or higher. And then, when your planet grab, no trade, early attack strat doesn't immediatly net you the game... ...swallow your tongue and die. Because your post made my brain hurt. Seriously, though, early rushing the AI can be fruitful...but
The antipiracy shit they put in commercials, and preveiws, and when you start a DVD...it pisses me off. I actually have genuine anger start to bubble up when I see that. I have never pirated a DVD, a game, and I have only ripped a few songs off the internet...and if the songs were good, I then proceeded to buy the freaking CD. The approach that all of the old bastards in charge of everything seem to be taking is that 'all the little punk
Starforce is the DEVIL.
I have seen this as well. Minor races also tend to gobble up all the space resources, but that is generally OK; I would rather one of them have it than a major civ.
Malichi, I think that is judges military strength somewhat higher than it should. I often have a negligiable military till end game or I am attacked, so it ranks my as a peon. Soon as somebody thinks to snack on me, however, my thriving economy switches to military and I generally buttrally the opposition in just a few turns of war. And, a funny thing, often times the AI you are fighting will say things like...'Ah, hey, maybe it was a mistake to...a
Holy crap this post has some angry people sounding off, yeah? Personally, I feel that the AI surrendering is sometimes iffy but it has never been a game breaker for me; it just means that occasionally a civ will knuckle under before they had the snot COMPLETELY kicked out of them. The thing is, if the civ thinks it is gonna lose, surrendering makes sense from a fluff perspective; you don't want your whole race to get buttrallied by angry oppressors w
Most of my victories have been alliance victories, but only in the sense that I crushed all the major powers militarily and the remaining few didn't wanna rumble with me. I have a hard time convincing fledgeling civ's to ally with me, in the begginning of the game. Can't seem to get them past friendly until I smash a few heads and build up my military substancially.
LoL, Scumbag mentioned the GalCiv2 economy like it is broken. I don't have any problems with it. Is there an issue, or was he just tossing out garbage because he doesn't have a handle on the game yet?
