Jesus, got enough plasma projectors on there? Edit: Oh, i guess those are death rays? Cool ships btw Edit 2: TG_Steeler - *Beautiful* ships. Gods, those are good

Kissmyaxe, I like your solar sail design. It reminds of battletech jumpships. Mmm... Battletech mod... For imageshack you have to use "sites" links rather than "forum" links for them to work on here. Hope that helps
Here is a Drengin civilian ship, this variant fitted as a constructor, and a Terran sensor array type deal, very simple.
I was wondering how anyone could design a self respecting sensor ship without a load of radar dishes included Here is a version of one of my pre CE designs. The other one in the pic above is just what I had lying around in screenshots, but this is what i use now.
You'll find it in the generic extras. The CE parts all say "special edition component" or something like that. Ok I ran all the updates, and yes it is where you said. Thanks for the help! http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/121/dish1kk.jpg Edit: and here are a few of my designs... http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/4452/sw
My game box says "Collector's Edition" on it, in bold letters, and I'm not finding it anywhere. Is it an extra or something else?
Just research sensors IV first, and build eyes of the universe. Evary ship gets 15 parsec senor range . Or if the AI beats you to it, just pack a cargo hull with nothing but senors, and have it follow your fleet at a distance.
Wow excellent work! Some of these designs use parts that I can't seem to find anywhere! Like parts of some of the standard hulls. And the radar dish? Where do you get it? I need to knoooow...
Something just occured to me. You know what *is* cheating with the whole -2000bc cap? Building a bunch of empty BB hulls for 110bc each, then when you have ten of these or so, going 85,000bc into debt upgrading them into your latest nano ripper loaded monstrosity. This takes eleven turns, with one decent industrial planet, and you've got two invincible size 25 fleets with gods know how much attack/defence <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
I agree, but doing that feels like cheating to me. Yeah... but as long as you don't overdo it, I'm tempted to say it isn't cheating? Exploit or no, I do have a problem with paying five times the construction cost of a ship to give it an extra 2 attack points. I spent a long time building my fleet, dang it, and I'm not about to scrap the whole t
Colony ships have 2 colony pods, so each has 500k capacity. Doesnt minutarization increase the capacity of the ship not the space of the component? Yeah it appears to be just for decoration. You don't really need more than one colony module, with all the rest going to engines and range. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center b
Well need to do some tests by checking treasury to see if it is really wasted or not Well, even if the actual credits aren't wasted, the potential is. After two or three complete ships, that's another ship that *could* have been built, but wasn't because of wasted overflow <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Hmm.gif" border=0
First, I would like to see GNN updates for actual galactic news, and not just domestic updates. Things like if a race conquers another race's planet, or if there is a state of peace or war between two races. There is an update for when you conquer another planet, but I would just like to see that for all conquests, not just mine. And right now I end up constantly having to check the relations screen to see if my not quite allies are at war with anyone and if i should be helping them out or not.<
I usually tend to go for a minimum of 2 factories and a star port for planets, so this means mars is always an industrial planet for me, slowly cranking out constructors. One gripe I have is that if any planet should have terraforming potential, it is Mars! Read a science fiction novel, for heaven's sake Anyway, yeah, I find it really isn't practical to make low quality planets research focu
Isn't there a game mode where everyone has maxed out logistics? I could be wrong...
I actually did sell older ships once I was able to build some of my better designs, until one time after I saved a game and decided to go 12,000bc into debt upgrading my corvettes, and going on a rampage. Right, so first turn my debt was 12,119bc or something. The turn after it was only 2,000. Three or four turns after that my economy was recovering and I was able to continue playing normally. Brilliant feature, by the way, thank you, Stardock <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
I think it might be a firewall set to a high security setting or something?
Me too, I've had everyone concentrating on missiles for the entire game, with the exception of a recent one where the Korx AI seemed to go for mass drivers in my border skirmish with it, mixed with missiles. Yeah, I think what happens is that the minors always tend to go the missile route, and then the majors trade with them for the techs? Even if they have a preference for beams or guns, they're prolly going to go for missiles, in my thinking, because of the high damage per mount, ea
Building a heavily armed influence star base right next to one of their border planets usually does the trick for me. It is an invitation for conquest
You could try playing on the highest level, but with a blindfold. For added difficulty, put some pirahna fish down your pants, or try having a family member hit you over the head, or blast a horn in your ear. I find all these combined increase the game difficulty to nearly impossible levels, but feel free to experiment
I heard a lot of good stuff about how you don't have to adjust research and how the overflow just goes to the next project in line, and I love the feature! Unless it's the end of a line and there isn't any, but that's not so bad. However, I do have a problem with some industrial production things. If the game were real time, this would be no issue at all, but it is, so these become a problem, at least for me. First, military production overflow. When a planet has 49 in mili
Jesus Christ, those are excellent.
That happens on large maps for me. The only maps I can comfortable play on are medium or smaller, which isn't really so bad. Sometimes I like smaller empires and so forth. I posted somewhere else that the arceans really mess things up in the sense that they have an insane compulsion to build ships, to the point where in a recent game they had more ships than the other 5 races combined! This slowed things down horribly later in the game, which is why I don't include them in games anymo
Oh gods, the arceans. They build something like 2 colony ships a turn until they own half the damn map! This is thanks to their military bonus, but it gets even worse if they get an industry bonus square on their home world! In every game I've played pre-patch they end up dominating the map. Goodbye arceans, hello drath. Arceans, I'm not going to play with you anymore if you keep hogging all the c26 worlds for yourself <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" bo
Yeah I had something like this too. Even on normal, the Drengin usually did not start their land grab until there were only one or two planets in a larga galaxy for them to grab! The terrans were even worse in that one game, sticking around their home system, while altarians and korx colonized worlds in the neighbouring sector! I usually do abundant habitable, common planets, common stars,
