Both Sins and Galciv give me the same error. (blah blah program title) gameexename.exe - Bad Image (X) The application or DLL c:\windows\system32\.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette (so 1980's) Anywho.. .dll, never seen that...great I have no clue why it's a nameless DLL. The error for GalCiv comes when I'm done picking the options for the map and it goes to the helpful-hint-load-map screen. The error f

So far only complaint is I CANNOT figure out quests...3 player map 2 guys give me quests. No matter what I do there is always a scout of either faction that pokes around my territory...gets blasted...and I lose the rep. Let alone the likelyhood one of them has an small armada in my territory. I mean I picked a guy to ally with, avoided all his ships as they bee-lined for my homeworld and went after the quest he gave me. Finished them, got rep, and sure enough a scout passed by my gun
Lol, have to say I only noticed it being a hot topic on one of the game review websites recently. I knew you guys were working on a new RTS but forgot the name and had been playing GCII. I didn't realize how far along it was. Well I saw the name and quite frankly thought it seemed a silly name for a RTS, then I looked at the previews and thought ooooh. Thinking this had the 'flavor' of Independence War, Homeworld, and well an RTS that I would love. (yeah I know my game comparisons might s
What the kid learned was control (who knows where). Sure paying attention to the first aid in AA helped direct his actions. But what is key is he took the initiative to act, and had the control to turn everything off emotionally and just go to work. That's something you learn from being a member of a team. That's something I learned form the military and from team based online shooters. When that 00.1% likely event happens you cannot afford to be distracted by the uniquenes
Plenty of ways to rationalize the fact you can't warp bubble the terror-star. Let's just say it's too big. Death star was the inspiration anyway. And in the terror-star combat view...just say it's not to scale. I think it's 20x better you can't move it too fast. Just too damn easy to win that way.
I guess I have to agree that if you can't PLAN to use it. However I think 1pt is too low a cost. And I do love the new trees even when I hate them. They really define the races better.
This game is top notch. Love how you guys are sticking to your guns and how this game strays further and further from uniformity while most racial games the races tend to get more and more alike. Oh yeah there come some blaring lopsidedness at times but. Even when it comes up it's usually workable and you guys are quick on the fixes.
I can spend 10% on my research and 90% elsewhere, research a large and in-charge tech and pretty much guarantee a early finish when I have 20 weeks to go. I am not sure if this is 'creative' or not because I also notice a 'creative' race will have 30 weeks to go and if I 'turn' spam it will go 29,28,24,23,22,21,17,16 etc. So maybe it is luck? Dunno but it seems too powerful. Was able to chug from behind in weapons with minimal research while pumping out shops for deterren
Going to agree. More color to default. The ability to change it is excellent but getting them all reasonably different is harder for some, AND a default standard is always a plus for screenshots etc for showing others. Will save someone explaining who is who depending on the screen.
Just wondering if there is going to be some external way to learn these trees. Paper would be nice. At least an online version. Cuz right now switching between races in new games is a rough way to learn and I am timidly aware of how many races are not yet in the game.
Doing this without a thorough investigation: Long version: From what I understand with these unique trees is...obviously the unique techs are marked with the race icon. However, I've played quite a bit and I still forget the basic trees. Weapons and defenses are easy but some of the 'social' and economic branches I forget the details of. Putting this up to opinion based on the fact I don't know how accurate this is. Is there a way to indicate what branches the races do n
Aye I think the Invasion thing is a little gimmicky...but functional. There are several variables you can control. And a little secondary feature of the random # spinner is on a failed invasion you can get an idea how much was bad luck based on of the numbers you see where you landed. Hence you might want to invade with small forces hoping for a lucky draw if your odds are bad. It's really quite complicated before you hit that button...after that it's just a minishow.
Agree, had 'mega?' event of tourism kick off and the cash was in the 100k's after a month.
Got it. I had forgotten this 'problem'. I had thought the population cap 2.5(18) was a planet indicator...now I see that it's a farm indicator. IS there an in game reference for this max value? Seems like the one thing missing if there is none. I will keep that page handy.
Search doesn't seem to be working and not sure if this goes under DA or Bugs...so: Have no idea what the trigger was and figured it would go away, but my populations are locked. I think it might have happened when I put my economy into the red with a quick-buy but that's a pure guess. One population is stuck at 2.52/18 100% approval the other 18/18 70% approval and not sure how to troubleshoot the problem.
Hmmm, that begs the question...Dread Lords vs. Ninjas?
Had to restart afterwards but it worked GCI moved away and a new folder appeared for DC on the Product List dropdown. Thanks much,
Not sure if this belongs on bug report. DA doesn't appear under the Games Subscription dropdown in the registration menu. Now I updated GCII - 1.40.070 automatically just fine as that and DA's .10a.017 - 0.20.026 popped up when I ran SDock. But for some reason I can't apply a reg code to DA. It worked fine and downloaded / updated after I preordered and when I query for an email of codes DA shows up with GCII. I haven't changed anything (before I had this problem) since DA
I didn't realize this at first but it happened in my game. I was able to get some pretty cheap hard hitting ships while others were working on expanding. Shortly there after I started getting tribute from good and neutral races ~100 from each (they were all in the negatives which I thought was weird). Well about another 1/4 of a game later 2 years I think someone declared war on a minor race...then another major race declared war on the same minor race. Being friends with the two rac
Yup I just figured it out. Had problems with FarCry running 2x speed. And others. I've disabled one CPU for the game and works fine.
Can't edit? Anyway. Just came to me to search the mouse name and I think I have a solution...
In the ship preview when race selecting and sometimes in construction...I think something to do with my Logitech MX laser mouse is making it rotate REALLY REALLY fast. I 'n not sure how to stop it. I assume the command is middle click and moving the mouse left and right...which works just fine on the main map. Ideas?
I don't want to see the UP become too complicated though. Simple changes will probably take quite a bit of time to impliment but I can wait since the UP currently doesn't cause any damage to the game. It's just as is if it were completely removed I doubt it would change many people's games. But I DAMN well don't want it removed But that's not goi
Useless no, BUT in the game I really don't usually need to pay attention to 70% of the elections which makes it a game flow breaker most of the time. I haven't even looked at finding out what the elections will be on ahead of time. I would say in the game I have played and payed attention to there has only ever been once where I saw that if I had known about the election earlier that I would have worked to change the results ahead of time
