I've used Ctrl-N a LOT when starting a new game, and occasionally I'll see a Precursor Mine tile (700% to Manufacturing), but I've never seen a Precursor Library, just the Precursor Artifacts (300% to Research). I've seen the Library in the gfx\PlanetBonuses directory. Maybe it's just super rare?

To Monkey Pants: Yes, yes!! The color-coded resources is a GREAT addition! Moreso because now when an opponent grabs one, you can actually tell what kind it is if you want to try to take it later. I was really frustrated in 1.0X games cause once a resource was taken, you'd never know what kind it was again due to those awful "mining starbase 241" names.
Psychoravin, yeah, I know the Terrans used to suck, but Brad said there were lots of AI changes for them in the 1.1 patch, even to the point of saying "You're really missing out if you're not playing against the Terrans". So it really sucks if you play as a custom race but can never get them when playing random opponents.
OK, I can accept that. One other thing that is really weird is that I'm playing a custom race, and have quit and restarted four or five times, and none of my 8 random choices has ever included the Terrans. Not a big sample size however, obviously.
Just downloaded and installed the 1.1 Beta. I checked the box for Randomly Pick Races and selected 8 on Tough. I am hitting Ctrl-N a lot, and I'm noticing that I am getting the same 8 races every time. I quit and started a new game, and in this game I'm getting a different set of 8 races, but the same 8 every time I hit Ctrl-N. Tried again, same thing.
Hey Brad, I don't mean to bug you, but what about this suggestion for tech trading that was made by "erico" on the newsgroup comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic on 3/4/06: > Put in a slider with which the player can specify what percentage of total > research points may be acquired by trade. For example, assume that the > total research points of all the techs an AI has is 10,000 points. If the > player selected 50%, th
Yes, someone please put this into the next (1.1?) patch. The music that accompanies the main menu is nice, but I don't want to have to hear it every time I play.
If you have an AMD-brand dual-core processor, go to the stickied thread about them and there's a link to an AMD driver update. Fixed the problem for me today (AMD X2 4400+).
I tried upping the value in RaceConfig.xml for the Custom race to 100 points, but when I run the game, it's set back to 10 points. I have "Use mods" checked in the game options (it was checked by default). Is there some other setting I need to change?
Hi, The posting titled "NEAR GOLD SCREENSHOTS" says the date that the game will be available from retail stores is February 21. I had thought this was going to be Feb 25 from info a month ago. I need to know the exact date cause I'm taking that and the next day off for vacation So I'd really hate to be a day too early and be screaming "I WANT MY FRIC
