I have been looking over the features for Dark Avatar and I am dying to try out the new features; especially the "Planet Colonization Techs". I have one concern however. Suppose I start a new game. I quickly colonize all regular planets near me, then focus on military. Some other race, say, the Torians, decide to take the colonization path and start littering my empire with little pockets of Green. All those heavy-gravity and zero-atomosphere planets become a thorn in my side. <br/

Plus, you didn't add any sensors or life support. Sensors are important for tottally offensive ships like yours. (allow you to attack first more often) another, smaller benefit is that planets without orbital fleet managers will be better protected with frigates than with fighters.

we also need more hulls. it would be really cool if an expansion would give us like 10 new hulls for each size.

I am getting very frustrated. I preordered my game a week before release. i paid for three day shipping. Now its friday, and its not here! i checked online where the package was. IT JUST SHIPPED TODAY. i'm just mad cuz i really excited about this game. Any reason why it didn't ship on release day?

Those dominators are pretty awesome. i love how you can build just the right ship that your opponent can't even touch. Talk about killing those stupid Starcraft Battlecruisers (okay there not that stupid)

The AI automatically targets the most threatining but easily killed ships. If you loaded your support ship with no weapons, just defenses, it would be the last one killed.

Sometimes a rpg element can be a bad thing. In fire emblem, im constantly worrying about equaling out my units experience. (if one is super powerful and the rest are weenies its bad) I dont want another game like that. Besides, isn't the ship design and naming enough?

Well, maybe you wouldn't own any parts that you had troops in until you captured the whole planet and got civilians there.

I have an idea that i mentioned earlier. Why not have land battles like risk? Youv'e already got the map with all the squares on it. The "military screen" would show you how many troops in each square. YOu could attack from these squares or defend from them. Know how you talk so much about sharing Solar systems? This way you could share PLANETS.

Ok. Say i toss a tennis ball. Say my friend is running very fast towards me. The tennis ball smacks him in the head. I didn't throw very hard, nor was the ball moving all that fast compared to my friend, but the combined force of both the ball and my friend makes a hard impact. Now, imagine this same thing with mines. Mines wouldn't even have to be explosive, or very big at all. Like saber cherry said, a bunch of BB size mines don't sound very effective, but when a ship move

I have a question about land battles. Ive seen screens of a little clip that shows a bunch of guys charging each other, but how does it work? Is it just, Mass all your guys together so you can take the planet in one turn, or is it more like risk, where splitting up your forces and conquering different areas is the strategy? Thanks

Hmm... suppose you can attack multiple targets. So what? the damage that you do will be spread out between targets. Wouldn't it be more efficient to focus fire, like in almost every RTS out there? By eliminating ships one by one, you would ultimitely save damage to your own ship.
