Perhaps each race getting their own tech tree will be a precursor to better AI.It would be nice if you could create a shell strategy for each race although this may come close to prescripting. One thing that bothers me is that the UP vote never correlates with your diplomacy relationships. You would think that an ally would either vote something positive for themselves or you. Also when a civ surrenders couldn't this be influenced by a UP vote as to who gets their worlds assuming you have

AAh but simple tactical ground combat would work!! Or at least throw a few variables such as using the most abundant terrain type on a planet to label it as x terrain then having to train soldiers in that particilar terrain type or the current exotic world configuration.Say to have a decent advantage to invade an ice planet you would have to do research on that invasion tech. And have particular worlds negate certain invasion perks using different invasion methods.

1 Are you sure you brought down the economic and research treaties on both sides of the trade screen? If a race already has an economic/research you won't see it on his side. 2.The other civ has to research alliances as well.So would trade or gift the civ alliances before asking. 3.Trade screen.Choose attack x civ.Give money or tech etc to get green.

How about ship components that would retard a starbases economic benefit to trading or production such as lowering trade values or lowering the benefit from the resource mining bases?Or a pirating module that would allow you to steal trade from somebody else?

I am afraid your back story needs some back story. Why would you need to break the laws of physics to create molecular life, unless this is a pocket universe/dimension in which something is preventing molecular life from forming,in which case the Guardians would have been sent to bridge that gap with something artificial. And if artificial, would be acting as an antientropic field. Now this, if it broke down would explain then the return and the breaking down of molecular life.It might be that the d

How do the AI's gather intelligence to determine your military strength?Do they have to raise the level of spying to get the specific information? Is it gathered through scout ships?Or do they automatically know when you create ships and have the inforfmation at their fingertips? Or when your trading with them do they peek at how many ships you have? :LOL:Who would do such a thing?

I am hoping we will actually see a need for coping with the AI and their particular tech flavors. It will mean that you will have to change strategy depending on your neighbors versus ending up with them farther away.I want to try making those races that get military strength early super aggressive in their stance to help emphasize that advantage. Would also like to see more specific race mini mega events such as Your diplomat has committed a grave social error with the x race.

+ The Yor should have no need in the beginning for any kind of life support for their spacecraft. There robots for god sake. They should have excellent beginning ranges on their ships. And as a result of no life support their ships should cost less.Less redundancy systems needed.Freighters as well should cost less. And starbases to. +They should have faster repair skills. -Creativity should be off limits as they think like machines. -Research should be weak. as a result.<b

Nah!!It keeps those techs unique and is a way of curbing the races tendency to trade away techs in general. This way you can keep controls on some tech trading. You would also lose the penalties and pluses that are unique to your race by getting them. As the Krynn we don't want to use them damn foreigner technologies!!

I would say The Path aptly describes the Krynn more than The Way as it leads to militant techs ,one even being described as Jihad.Tao or the way is to a large extent an attitude one can adopt as following the way of nature in one's life. The militancy brings up more of the images of the marxist Shining Path in its violent intent. After playing the Krynn in the new release I find spying really 'alien' to the krynn cause. First it really does no good for the more aggressive approach of

It also depends on a large map what civ is next to you as far as strategy goes.If some war mongerer you will have a lot more pressure to build military and stay out of war. Pay close attention to the plus and minuses in the relations report. This will tell you how you can avoid or postpone war.Trade with a hostile race to gain some browny points.Change your alignment if that is more important to avoid war than to be evil or neutral or good. Try to get an economic or research treaty as that ef

This is what creates that little pause when you have a moral dilemma isn't it?Although I can see that if being good makes winning tougher it should be reflected in the game scoring. You would probably have to chose good every time to get the score bonus,no I'll go neutral on this one so the Arceans won't attack me now. but then good traditionally gets their reward in heaven while evil seems to enjoy it in the material world

Good back story Finally i have found my race!!!Seeing that influence is the hardest peaceful way of winning,(because it pisses people off), it should make for interesting situations. Fellow Krynn let us work to reintegrtate the shattered crystal and drive the demon from the universal order!!!!!We will show the Universe The Way!!!! Will this be released Thursday?

A gravity well sling shot would work tied to an aiming computer to get the billiard shot right.Robots could be made to induce black holes the size of the rock thus getting the acceleration.

You should be able to annex minor races instead of just leave alone or conquer. With this relationship you could have the option to be able to levy a war tax if money becomes tight during conflicts or demand a certain tech at a much lower cost. You should also have the option to lease minor races ships, starbases etcetera. The minor races could also have specific benefits to a civ who annexes them as an example an aid to your spying or a boost in influence or a race where you get a higher than usual

Pretty good game.My basic plan has been to use lots of recon, spycraft and airpower to win.Playing humans. And lots of tech upgrades and missiles.I have lots of pioneers going to resource sights to set up collectors and and some bases you can abstrtact munitions for some action points.Forward air controllers really add to your air power effectiveness. Although in my last game against the mutants their base was placed close to mine and they did not develop much. Espionage is awesome. Th

Extremely confusing.I just clicked a couple turns simply to get enough resource points never mind spending them to get an advantage on the dice roll. And with a max of 8 cards in your hand there is not a lot to do.What if I want to do something that I don't have a card for?Probably confused about a lot.Couldn't get how to make armies.
