so how about u have to build the starbase on a planet and specify the modules then. After that a specail towing ship would be needed to put it in position. After that upgrades would have to be done the old fasion way.

I think it would be interesting if one could pack one of there planets with explosives evacuate almost everyone, allow the planet to be captured and detonate the exposives as soon as those pricy planitary improvements are done?

One of these would be fun to try. One thing that i think is being left out it that all of the other planets in the solar system would be left in the dark (if they have not been used for construction)

In star systems the sun only lasts so long... and while i realise that suns last much longer then the time of the game, every once and a while i sun should go, completly hindering a civilization or blowing up a useless star system. All these ideas are great! I realise how much it may change the gameplay but why not expand on what chriskrusz was saying and have invading ships similar to invading planets? Twards the end the game when ships are enormas and take long to build this could be maybe a more costly but time saving option.

In a real battle, one could attack another ship board it and call it there own so why not in GC2? In other stratagy-based games (im thinking comand and conquir genrals:zero hour) through EMP or other tech one can disable or capture another ship. If we could have something like that in GC it would be like a wild card in any battle. If the ship's purpose was to temporarly disable another ship then it could be a mine or beam-based attack in which the ship is totaly exposed while disablin

If not cloaking why not Camouflage? I dont know how hard it would be to put that in, but AI wouldnt be as much of a problem and it could be more a radar (or whatever the tech is in GC2) scrambler kind of thing.
