I thought my idea was prettty simple really. It's just two numbers to look at instead of one, and it adds a lot more depth. I really just want planets to be more than just a rotating orb with a number attached to them, you know? I'd like to be able to open up the window, and see a list of properties interesting properties. "Hey, this world is bathed in perpetual darkness, due to the gas giant that's always between it and the white dwarf star at the heart of the galaxy. It's highly

In dark avatar you will only be able to colonize certain planets after having researched certain techs. Now this is a great idea (the sort of thing I lobbied for) bt I fear it will cause some annoying problems in games. What if another race gets the tech before you and colonizes a planet right in your backyard (in the annoying way that they would colonize the class 4 planet in your home system before you would). This could be really annoying and lead to some rather odd disributions of r

I hope that whatever Stardock chooses, it does in a distinctive way. The world has enough High Fantasy RPGs and WW2 strategy games. If they try to play Bioware, Bethesda or whoever at the own game they will lose. BTW, if it is another strategy game, I hope it is a "big picture" game. I can't stand those strategy games where you fight mission after mission in a fixed order. I like snadbox kinda games, and I don't like the idea of having someone above me giving me more orders. If

I had the same thing with an economic starbase. It had 8 round orbitting thingies instead of 4, but after I reloaded the extra ones dissapeeared.

First can I say that I applaud Stardock's great support for GC2. It's just that so much of what their adding seems to be window dressing - like that list of fleets and all the little UI improvements. I think this is probably because they come from a non-gaming background. Well, no matter how many of these nifty little gizmos get added, it's still the same game I've played through several times. I'd give my right arm for a new AI race, or respawning anomalies, or ship parts, or more interesting s

Some low quality planets might essentially just be resources. Like you colonize them just to get access to their mineral reserves, or they might house a zero gravity research base. BTW, I dislike the way that you always start with one class 9-12 and one class 4-6 in your starting system. it gets borring. Perhaps you might just get one really good planet, or three class 6's.

I haven't got any desire to play a turn based strategy game online. I get the impression that most of the people here would rather have other things. The outcry for multiplayer seems to come mostly from reviewers rather than customers. I'd rather see stuff like - New races (especially more badguys). I'd like more information to be shown about their culture and physiology. I'd like certain races to be better suited to certain planets, perhaps depending upon atmosphere, or wa

To be honest, I don't like the idea f the logistics change. I always use larger ships and have never noticed any advantage to it. The terrans never do particularly well in my games. Some times I find that, because sizes scale up, I have trouble fitting more weapons on my large ships than my mediums. I think they're penalized enough already.

IMHO the nano ripper is overpowered. I keep on seeing fleets of fighters with it as their only weapon. However, I like it in principle. I like having "special weapons" that are different and vastly more powerful than other available at the time. How I'd do it: - Only allowed on freighters or larger ships - Only one per ship. - very significant size and cost I'd also like to have similar weapons in the beam and

How about only allowing it when the only things being offerred are ongoing, such as peace treaties. So that when the peace is broken, the payments stop.

How come more anomalies don't appear during play? It seems a shame that survey modules are only worthwhile for a short period at the beginning of each game.

when cheats are enabled, ctrl+shift+D spawns in a new minor race. It also converts un uninhabitable planet into a class 15 for them to live on. That's what I use. BTW I'm sure i remember them saying that a minor race could become a major one. What exactly was meant by that?

First off, since this is the first time I've been able to tear myself away from the game since getting it, can I say the usual thanks for the great game and the unbelievable support yadda yadda etc. I have a question about trade though. Do trade and trade good have anything to do with each other? Or are trade goods just the same as any other super project. Do they increase the income from trade routes? If so, does this apply for imports or exports or both? Does the civilizaltion you t

Every strategy game suffers as the game progresses and civilizations get wiped out. How are they going to keep the game feeling fresh in GC2? I really love things like Civil Wars that split races in two, new factions moving in from another galaxy, or a race that everyone thought was extinct rising from the ashes.

Hi, I'm new here and I'm really excited by this game. I used to play a game called "Pax Imperia" years ago which was absolutely awesome and I'm hoping that GC2 is a move towards something like that (but not real time obviously). One thing that has got me wondering is the new system for calculating defence with shield point and armour values. To a certain degree I'm kinda worried about this. Does your defence against missile weapons depend entirely on your armour, or is it j
