Anyway, I am glad to be a part of the No 1 decimator of dreams. The prime pounder of poor pitiful pretenders. The gleeful gouger of inferior species infesting the sacred galactic stalking grounds.
the perennial pen putting forth pugnacious puns? the all-time authority of associative alliteration?

well, that's a little better, but i still personally think it's lacking. perhaps before continuing this process some people can do the whole "put a bunch of the same piece in a row" thing and make it work, but IMO it more often just ends up looking lazy. i guess in the end, if you want to do all the ship designs yourself, you should decide exactly how much you care about others' opinion. ship design is a really subjective sort of thing.
on larger maps with lots of anomalies, it can help a lot to get an extra surveyor or two out early. IIRC maint. costs now apply to non-military ships, so try not to keep constructors and colony ships around if you don't need them. also try to send constructors directly to their intended targets, rather than gathering them at a common staging point. there are other little tricks to be found here and there. war profiteering is an interesting ability that the korx and drath get.
That's an odd planet - you using a mod or is that what it looks like with all the graphics turned off?
do you mean the texture in the upper left corner?
A little constructive criticsm would be a better idea.
okay. i'll chime in. i love the ship editor, so i don't mind. 1) for a capital ship, it's an incredibly simplistic design. it looks like you don't have any more than 6 pieces of jewelry on there. the stock designs from stardock are simple, but that's to keep them from crashing low-end systems (like Loup's). 2) it's hard to even tell it's supposed to be a ship. it just looks like a huge hunk of metal.
He might like this one. Notice the undetectable and seamless editing. You probably didn't even know it was photochopped, did you?
LOL nice
well, you'd be putting it at 25%, but the point still stands.
@ Dys, they are used in the indoor growth of certain plants, those that enjoy a lot of light.
oohh lol.
pictured above: china.
my front yard is about 6' x 18'.
halogen globes? [e digicons]o_O[/e] what is a halogen globe?
it'll grow back.
yes it will! i do wish i had a big yard. my tiny little joke of a yard doesn't give me much space to mess around with. i'd try to do all my landscaping with hallucinogenic plants. for S's & G's.
5 day lillies (Bella Legosi, Dark Elf, Aztec Priestess, Krakatoa Lava, Nights Coming), a rose, a royal star magnolia tree (our dog is named after this tree, so it was only fitting to get one to plant in the yard) three other things I cannot remember their names...
so i take it you (or the Mrs.) have a thing for day lillies? i like morning glories myself. well, climbers in general. i tried planting a couple dozen more seeds the other week to see if i could get a few more
sorry to hear that e-stab [e digicons]:([/e] do either of the remaining players from team C want to submit a back-up game?
I did my Fall planting
what did you plant?
okay i got it done... not nearly as good as i hoped it would be. Character: The Blind Bandito Victory type: military Time: 8 years Score: 57,050 Difficulty: Suicidal Alignment: Neutral MV timestamp: 10/11/2008 1:21:21 PM Edition: v1.96 Twilight of the Arnor (Twilight of Arnor)
any chance the editors will get some attention? i haven't used them all thoroughly, but the map editor does have a bug that causes custom maps to crash the game; i think it's something related to asteroids, because custom maps don't crash if i don't use asteroids.
how'd you get those revealing pictures of me!?!
this is an interesting hypothesis, SB. i wonder if there are ways we might test it. i can imagine using cheat mode and gifting them star bases to both expand their range and establish extra zones of influence. i can think of at least one example of the terrans colonizing within "my" space, though. so perhaps to some extent it is AI-specific.
Question: Is this 4th game (on teams of 3) also averaged into the score, speed, and submission team bonus calculations? I've been assuming it has, but want to make sure.
Yes. Depending on your players that might be a good or a bad thing.
You're welcome. With the loss of Freeman this round, I'd like to inquire about playing an extra game for this round. I'm not sure TGE and E-stab will have time to play an extra game, but I know I have the time. Assuming I understand how the rules work, that is.

Well, this is a base 6 round, with the option for a 4th game, so IMHO it wouldn't be an issue. Then again, I'm just a peon here, so I
Red Ring of Doom sounds like it should be a Johnny Cash song.
10. There should be more incentive to do leases than currently.
perhaps a new sort of mega event. "Due to a galactic banking error, several of your leases have disappeared." i just wish i could get me a banking error. and in my favor this time, mmmkay?
lol well, the "Over 500 Battles" thing is still pretty bad-ass. don't see anyone else sportin it, anyway.
