Enjoying this Mod very much. I think the Drengin are much improved, they are challenging to play against. Question about the Yor: they can research Alliances, but this tech doesn't seem to appear on the trade screen when researched. I was able to ally, but only after 100 turns after I got the tech. Was this situation specifically designed for this Mod? Thanks.

Ok, I got it to work! I found the Capitalism with the Humans. The Yor has Hyperwarp. For some reason, I have two locations for Mods for ToA. I changed the path by taking out the "Twilight" sub folder. Your Mod description finally appeared! Thanks for all your help!
Yes, I did investigate to see if the tech had changed. No techs have changed. The Korath do not have Black Market Dealings. The Yor do not have Capitalism. Also, I think you added Hyperwarp to the Yor? Hyperwarp is not on their techtree. So I think the Mod is not engaging. Thanks.
Yes, I did extract to two folders, just as you described. The description for the Mod is not correct. In fact, the description does not change, regardless of the Mod I select. I appreciate your responses, thanks.
Reading about your Autumn Twilight inspired me to try a Mod. My standard path is C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Mods I changed the Mod path to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Mods\Autumn Twilight. Then I start the game and try to select this Mod. However, the description for this Mod is the same as the default Mod when I select it. I believe this is i
I have ToA and would like to try a Mod, but I can't get one to work. I've tried the TA Mod Screen Fix. I've tried changing the location in the prefs.ini to no avail. I can see a list of Mods, but the description for each mod is the same " a default mod..." Any other ideas? Thanks.
I have received a satisfactory resolution to my situation from Stardock. Thanks!
Thanks, I sent them an email like you suggested. No response yet, but they did say to wait "24 business hours".
Did you get a reply? Many people, myself included, are having the exact same issue. There are many posts on the GameStop forums stating the same issue. Thanks.
I deleted the offending design. The game runs ok again. I was hoping someone would evaluate my debug report and offer helpful suggestions for improving my computer's performance.
DA crashes when I try to upgrade a ship I created. This happens repeatedly. My video drivers are up to date. Please advise, thanks. Thanks kyro for your confirmation. Thanks also to Mumblefratz and Moosetek13 for your time and help also. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]
Update: After poking around in the DA forum, I stumbled across a recomendation to turn off both "enhanced ship rendering" and "transform & lightning". This worked! Now my DA performs as well as DL. Hope this helps someone else with similiar issues. Now, about those Borg...... [e digicons]:borg:[/e] (those Daleks are suppliing them ships to fight against me!)
The upgrade from DL to DA allowed me to play a game that includes the Daleks and the Borg. Where else can you do that? [e digicons]:borg:[/e] [e digicons]B)[/e] I have read other posts stating that the engine for DA was improved over the engine in DL, therefore DA ran much better. My DL runs very smoothly. DA is very choppy on the map where ships are displayed. Its very noticible when I scroll over the map, the scroll actually studders over fleets. Besides a new video
I finally purchaed DA after playing DL for a couple of years. (Yes, I'm way behind the times!) DL runs well on my computer. Unfortunately, DA comes to a grinding halt when a war starts. My video driver is up to date. Any help? Thanks. debug.err: Debug Message: Version v2.01 Dark Avatar last updated on: Mon Nov 24 16:26:43 2008 Debug Message: Checking DX Version. Hi. I´m using the same strategy as you. I don´t know if you have only three planets or you are using three specialized planets. I think that your lack of tech is because you aren´t using the diplomacy to obtain techs. My key is trade techs (i concentrate in techs that allows me to build trade goods.) Other thing; if you have a superproductive planet, don´t use another planet for production. This would dry your treasury. Other point; sell tech to minor races as possible
..... If I run short on money I sell the AIs "useless" tech. I tend to research anti-rocket techs with the sole purpose to sell it to AIs, with the intend never to build any rocket ships really. also I use to push quite early for SensorsIV and build the Eye of Universe. when I'm confident they cannot beat me to this, I sell them also sensor techs. Also propulsion, which is outdated for me and some weapons (like lasers when I'm at last in the category a
I’ll try to address all comments with one response. I’m using DL. I’ve worked up from beginner level and now I’m playing challenging level. The current civ I’m using is a custom. It has morale, speed and range bonuses. My beginning game strategy is to research better engines. I have a modified colony ship with two engines so I can get planets normally I may not get to first with the standard colony ship. This usually gets me 6 decent planets. I also purchase initial factories for each planet. Th
Playing GalCiv II since Feb. My basic strategy: I try to build a money making planet, usually the home planet, a research planet and a super production planet (40+ shields). My problem: I can’t win on the challenging level. I’m always behind tech-wise, even with the tech slider up to 60%. Other races have photons torpedoes while I’m researching laser III’s. When I end up in a war, my freighters get destroyed, I run out of money, and any competitive ship I try to build takes too long to cons
Just bought GalCiv II. Updated via Stardock. My video card has latest drivers. I have no video for the opening movie, just audio. Try turning off anti-aliasing. GeForceFX cards are notorious for AA issues. Yes, that worked, thank you!
