could answer your questions, but Frogboy might send his bee army after me! There should be more details released soon, though. Meaning he might send the dogs, and the bees, and the dogs with bees in their mouths that when they bark they shoot bees at you? I just gotta say... OUCH! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 align="absmidd

Here's a bug I keep knocking on. When I start a game (Whether MV or sandbox), some times I'm not satified with some settings and/or start location (Never complain about starting bonuses). I those cases, I go back to the main menu and recheck/modify some settings and hit the next button and choose my race (The thalans) and hit next again and there the game hang. On the race overview screen. The game freeze and Vista pop a TDR error and then most of the time GC2 will crash on des
I feel that DA is superior to DL, but I still recommand playing thru the DL Campaign for the story. Then play the DA campaing to complete said story.
I agree, the spore ships are fine as it.
Tought is the last level of difficulty before the AI actually gets bonuses. That being said, if you feel that they have way more tech than you at first, I feel it's normal. The AI seems to have special rules when trading techs within themselves, add to that the fact that some get some pretty impressive research bonus and the early game seem impossible to get over in term of techs. Thing is, as soon that they can't keep their economy red-hot, they will slow down. Drastically slow-down.
Wow, so many responses. I played so more, and yes the A.I. does a bad bad job about declaring wars. I was playing as the Thalans and the Earth decided that I looked too weak, and for once I was tempted to agree. A few Battleships gave me that impression while I was still muddling with Frigates. But here's the stupid part (apart for the no blitz action). The Corruption mega-event had stroke a few weeks earlier (didn't came off during the rest of the game). For those w
Weird and sad for you... Almalda is a fraggin' class 45!
Now, before anyone start ripping my head off, I want to say that I love the A.I. in GalCiv2, Brad did a magnificiant job, but A.I. is still A.I. and thus prone to rather stupid errors from time to time. Just thought we could start a tread (a new one?) with the most blatant errors and have a good laugh. Perhaps that could even help Brad optimizing his A.I. I want to be clear that the errors must happends when the A.I. are at least tough or better and thus taking full advantage
While I agree that Simcity Societies looks like rubbish, I don't believe that it is SimCity 5, I believe it is like The Sims: Life Stories & Co. versus the original The Sims. A Spinoff (a bad one). At least I really hope so. There's nothing like building a metropolis from scratch. Just hope that the true simcity5 will have 3d... walking around in your city as a actual inhabitant), drool.
my question exactly!
I just wanted to says huge thanks for Kryo and Stardock (NOT sarcastic), their 1.6c build corrected the problem wonderfully. To get it, see the sticky tread announcing the 1.6a build in the bug report. Near the end of the tread, the 1.6c link is provided.
That kind of thinking is just defeatist. As for those saying the dino had more CO2, it is absolutely false. The records shows (I mean geological records) that record peaks were acheived in the glacial era (which actually put an end to it). By the way, we knocked those records out since early 1970s and by now, we have about trice that amount in the atmosphere. As for the solar influence. A group of scientists backed by the U.N.'s group, have shown factual evidence (form 3 indep
I've tried upping my pagefile, was 4gb-1 (doesn't support 4096mb but 4095 (hence the 4gb-1) on a different physical 7200rpm hard drive and now is 8gb-1 on two physical one at 10000rpm and one a 7200rpm without any changes, I also tried the readyboost with 4gb also but to no avail, only it takes more time to achieve the crash. I will try the tricks reported here, but I shouldn't had to do this... Seem there's a huge memory leak somewhere. From my experiances, it seem located in the inva
Just finished the DA camp again, overall I found it rather easy except the defense of Drengi mission. Just thought I could share my experience... I played at Normal so, maybe some stuff is supposed to be easy, I dunno. Anyway, the first missions were pretty straight forward, Training-in-game thing, which I like. Then I hitted the snag... the Defence of Drengi mission, the frakking DreadLords are back. Now later I'll realise that the DreadLords arn't that i
They are right on all point, just wanted to point out that the pop cap for your homeworld is 16B (instead of the normal 6B) because of your capital, that is usually the reason of such low morale there... I usually correct this by filling up my transport from that world (if it's not too much out of the way)
I have the same problem. It seem seem linked to right mouse button scrolling. Scroll to the edge of the screen and release, it will continue scrolling. Only way to fix it is to do the same thing in the opposite direction. I use Vista Home Preminum x86 /w an good old P4 3.2gHz
Waagghh is right, FTL particles has been recorded in, among others, the particle accerlerator underneath Sudbury in Ontario, Canada.
bug 1 isnt actally a bug but an anti-cheaters feature. Brad said so a while ago in a journal i think. As for bug 2 I agree, fix it.
@phbbt107 It can already be... put everything at abundant and a huge galaxie. the total of colonies in the end-game can reach over 150-200... Ouch for micro management.
the constructor law was bugged in 1.0X it force all consturctor to go @ speed voted + speed research bonus no matter how much engine you put in (was really anoied when I saw my 30pc constructor dumbed to 5pc (in my case). Any way just a friendly warning because I've got no idea wheter or not they fixed it since it not in the change log.
nope,. these events are due to anomalies and not creativity. Creativity increase the odd of a major breakthru like the new hyperdrive engine that boost speed by 50% or the think tank that boost research by 100% but those breakthru are galaxy wide and thus, you get the benefit but everybody else too.
I already play only neutral, I love the terraforming and the moral bonuses, but give some more plz! Love the game btw especially with beta 1.1 (Ouch that A.I. is tough)
Unless you activate the No Tech trading option in the beta (just wanted to make things a little more complex )
The thing is that from an Invasion point of view the strategy of destroy vs. dont' destroy is there but when I use cultural conquest or even standart invasion principle (traditional warfare), I'm often left with a planet that will require (late game) something like 30000-50000 bc before it's producing enough social production to transform/upgrade itself. Now I guess that I'm non so bad a player but late-game, with my economy running @ 100% ahd my appro
I think this was in order to balance the slower reproduction rates but I agree that it need to be tweaked.
