Here's some recent stuff, I'll admit I can't check it all out, I'm no economist, just an engineering student. http://economistsview.typepad.com/economistsview/2008/05/menendez-thank.html http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2008/01/10/bush-stimulus-may-have-only-modest-effect/ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/03/27/AR2008032703145.html

Also computers and de internetz, Nuclear power, in fact all sorts of awesome came from the holders of doctorates. Also getting a doctarate is hard work, I don't think you quite realise this.
Personally I think the European Welfare State works pretty well, not perfect by any means, but at least everyone gets cheap health care and education, which are important to maintain an equal society.
1. People will find a way off our rock before a billion years is up, heck we may even have ascended to a higher plane of existence O_o 2. Industry has had a rather high effect on the earth's atmosphere... Have you ever been in Shanghai? The place is covered in smog. Hell , the density of carbon dioxide has about doubled since industrialisation began. The efforts of microbes pales in comparison, we've basically been burning those microbes waste products for the last 150 ye

Personally I don't think a multiplayer expansion pack would be a good business idea, the fact is they've already lost anyone who would be interested in the initial release, also anyone who didn't buy the original because of it's lack of multiplayer probably wouldn't buy both the expansion and the original. That said if they should ever produce Galactic Civilisations 3 (which they should...) or a standalone expansion, then multiplayer should be in, the one big criticism reviewers had w
yeah man but linux is the FUTURE!!! the world may not know it yet but the end to buggy os's that you have to pay through your teeth to buy is nearly at an end, the Linux Revolution is at hand !!! HAHAHAHAHA, HACKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!!!!
Now for starters I really like Galactic Civilizations, so I hope youguys will find my suggestion as cool as I do, bu back to topic I have always found (since Galciv 1) the wonders and achievements though important slightly boring in that they mostly gave staistical benefits which though important were far from cool, in fact many civ game's have lacked in cool factor when it came to wonders and similiar, also all wonders are ALWAYS social projects or bu
According to one of the latest press releases the PS£ isn't coming out till november( ) but I'm not too concerned cause I don't play consoles much, however another thing in the press release was that it would have a hard drive and run LINUX, I wonder what this means for the future of computing, and maybe stardock should join the linux revolution O_o
Well people with no internet do exist... anywho i've tried to activate by email, and 2 hours later I get back a message asking which product am I trying to activate??? I mean I put the right code in and my email address yet why do I get this message AHHHHHH (Runs and bashes head on wall in frustration) EDIT: okay ... It would be seriously nice if this happened, I tried doing it by email, but when I entered it at home, and got back to internet to enter code, I got a very emberassing message saying I had forgotten to enter my email adress, Now I can't play my favourite game all weekend
howabout making the "Eden Device" a galactic wonder, but instead of it being a social improvement it should be a ship, hmm perhaps the terror star should make a return... I wonder why noone's ever made wonders be units as well as buildings in civ games
I'm not saying that activation codes are wrong and all (with regard to patching), but it would be nice for those of us who don't have ready acces to the internet to be able to be able to get the code on the net so we wouldn't have to go home, install patch, go back to library/ miscelaneous, and then get code, it's even worse if you enter it wrong at home, which I have done twice already, please stardock, put in a way to get activation codes direct from
well I think it could definitely be a good mid to late game tech for evil civs as long as it had high maintenance (for balance) and it should also make good soldiers so perhaps if you colonise a planet of pq 3/4 or less you can build social project (with tech of course) prison. and with it a small number of pop from other nearby planets will be transported automatically each turn. also you should be able to build one class of ships (ltransports mostly)
wha- no hell planets! yeah but wouldn't be cool to have a prison planet if you're an evil civ. After all it would be a pretty cool sendng dissidents off for a lifetime of hell...
Hey what if you found a really hellish planet (like planet quality 1) it shouldn't be completely useless (like it was in gc1 , don't know about gc2 but i'm guessing it's the same)you should able to build a "prison planet" which would raise the morale in all other planets (or within a certain radius). Also it should yield high quality soldiers (like in dune...) however when it comes to morale bonus it should be probably limited, it should also be a hig
