Thanks Kryo. (Sorry about the double post - I thought something went wrong and then Icould not delete my post) Indeed I do use the European style of numbers, did not try to switch that one back since it did not seem very relevant. As you may know in particular the date styles are different - most Europenas prefer to have the day before the month - therefore I always switch that and en passant also switch the numbers - but that is not major. [Also even though I did notice the Stardock l

Unfortunately it did not work. Most of my settings are in US English already - but I changed everything I could find to US English; did a restart. No luck. Which exact settings are we talking about? Getting a bit frustrated. Any other suggestions? Should I report a bug report somewhere?

Unfortunately the Regional Settings trick does not work for me. I set everything to US English (location, language - you name it) - in fact most of my settings were on that (even if I am Dutch). Did a restart. No change... Did Imiss something? Any other suggestions? Should I report a bugreport somewhere?? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick response. Funny thing is that I do run what I believe is the newest version (it says 1.3 3X), and if I start a new game I still get the same layout (i.e. I can imagine that my current savegame will not be magically repaired...) Suggestions?

I tried to look if someone had the same issue but couldnot find it. The problem is this, all my planets give buildable squares on the equator only - and also the planets look bland. Not sure how I got this one - does not look like a feature since it looks ugly - even if it is not a real problem. Tried to get a picture in but the insert picture tool got me puzzled (glad the games interface is muchbetter than that one..). I run 1.3 beta - no other bugs or issues... Thanks for

I do agree with the lack of atmosphere though - mainly because one looks at space and there is just not much going on. With Civ that is just that bit more exciting since there is tons of stuf going on with al types of terrain and wht it does to strategy and tactics. Overall it is for me somewhat disappointing since one is looking mostly at the screen seeing a bunch of stationary planets, some moving fleets and trade routes. In particular if ones style is more peaceful than warmongering sometimes

For anyone experiencing the same problem I got it fixed by comparing the registry entries and copying the missing bit from the one to the other.

As background, I bought the game through the internet, downloaded it with my LapTop using a friends DSL (have just a 56k line at home). Copied the program to my home PC and got it to work. Got it registered no problem. But when I downloaded 1.1 (again from a different PC) and tried to apply it to my home PC it does not install. It says something about the registery entry being blank. Hmm. (On the LapTop it installs just fine so the installation through copying -while working just fine- was not t

It is not that farfetched that a Starbase cannot initiate a battle, but indeed it seems like a realistic concept that it has a zone of control (park your limping spaceships for safe harbor etc.) and that an enemy ship in fact has to make some detour if it does not want to enage in battle. So how can it help in battles - far away? Well, I can live wit it as a concept that having support near in fact helps with quickly all sorts of things, as
