I would like an option for cannon starting positions on Anthys considering it is a lore map. Thank you.
Me too. Having the option of "historical" starting locations would be fantastic.

Alot of good info there Brad, but this was the best news of all: When will the final version be released? We still see months of work ahead of us. We don’t have a specific “gold” date yet. We intend to follow-up with a BETA 3 roughly a month from now. We’ll have a better idea where we are at that point to start thinking of release dates. I'm glad to see the final release will
That sucks, it seems the opposite for me. The monsters NEVER attack the enemy and will chase me around the map all day. But an AI strolled in with some pioneers and founded a town a square away from him and he didn't bat an eye. I could see how he might
First Complaint: Champions vs. Everyone else It’s a fine line. You want champions to matter but you don’t want to make it about collecting champions and steam rolling. The basic problem I see is that champions have too much base HP imo. We used to have it a lot less but then they were pointless. So it’s something we’re placing with. I guess, to me, it depends how you view champions. Are
I understand why you sold it. And I'm also glad there's a viable alternative to Steam out there. It's just that I'd feel alot better if Stardock still handled digital distribution of their own games. Even if it wasn't Gamestop that bought Impulse, the fact is I really don't trust anyone else not to screw me over at some point in the future. Digital distribution is a daunting prospect for the consumer. We're expected to shell over (usually) the same amount o
This is welcome news. I thought the book was surprisingly good, but the real reason I bought it was for bonus content.[e digicons][/e]
Why do the almost-all-Fallen Empires accept a faction of Men when the Kingdoms seem to reject all Fallen?
Well, it sounds like the Kingdoms might be just a little stuck up. To put it differently, if they represent the past world and believe they are entitled to it, the Fallen, who represent the more corrupt nature of the world, would have no part in the kingdom's vision. I too think the goal in MP should be to make it as much like SP as possible. It's understandable if not every single SP feature makes it- just make it as close as you can. If we're playing MP with friends, we don't care if we have to wait thru tactical battles.....(for example)
I'd have to disagree with your statement that damage types would make tactical combat shallow.
Me too. It's not terribly accurate to use a 1v1 battle as an example. Even the game itself defaults those scenarios to auto-calculate. It gets more interesting when you have multiple varied units and you have to plan tactically for them to engage enemy units that they are best equipped to deal with, while trying to deny the same e
Yea, we're pretty good friends with the Paradox guys (i.e. talk to them very regularly) and we're seeing what we can do to help them with Impulse::Reactor integration. It would solve a lot of problems I suspect as IR doesn't require a client (i.e. no Steam or Impulse client required).
I tingle with anticipation. [e digicons][/e]
It appears we have to integrate Impulse::Reactor into it to take over that part. Is that something you guys are looking to do?
I hope so. This looks like a good game, but I really, really don't want to buy it on Steam.....
Is this going to find its way onto Impulse anytime soon?
I like this idea. I don't think accusing them of stealing ideas from other games is a good way to persuade them though. There are bound to be mechanics in common with games of similar genres- it doesn't mean anyone's ripping them off.
FWIW, I have 64bit Win7, PhenomII, 4GB of RAM and an ATI5700 series. My game is running acceptably at about 18FPS. Clearly the GPU isn't being pushed hard, but I've been playing for hours and only noticed how low my FPS was when I fired up Fraps. Im using Catalyst 10.4
In this beta build, it seems like gardens are almost a way of encouraging specialization because being as inefficient as they are, they take up a lot of building space. If you can't secure a large food source, you don't really have the room to keep a town balanced while gaining any significant boost in one area.
Yep, and I thought that was intended behavior. I don't think the balance was quite right, but overall, I approved of the mechanic.
This is indeed my point. Now the reward for carefully placing a city in a good spot will be infinitely higher than it was in the past. Specifically my point is, currently, gardens provide the exact function that you claim you are looking to avoid, they forgive non-careful play by giving people access to food without having to carefully place their cities. As it stands now, if you don't carefully place your city y
I know you can't please everyone, but I'm disappointed in the city change. I think most of the complaints about the current system are from people who don't really understand the food system or aren't researching the housing upgrades. You only need like 10-12 villas to max a city right now, and gardens are optional if you just go out and look for food resources (one bee hive with a granary is 30+ food). I really like the current system where you can
Pretty much what it says... If I have the In-Game chat window on screen, the only thing I can do with my champions/sovereign's inventory is pass around unequipped items. I can not equip or unequip anything, nor can I use any consumables. If I close the chat window, it behaves normally. Can anyone confirm/duplicate this?
