now im happy i bought the sewt that includes Half-Life Source, Half Life 2 and counter strike now since if HL2 sucks all to *** I can at least play Source (have it in a box since day one but I want a better PC before I play it)

Hmmm I guess he has a point but considering that Galciv 2 is boasting last i heard from game magazines a dual core support for AI so it's probably already in there wether or not you or they do it is what im waiting to see. Right now however they seem to be typical locusts as in most games but even they said this is more of an alpha then a beta.

I think that all of these games are obviously moving no matter how slowly towards a player influenced tech tree that can say discover nuclear energy but lack the ability to crete a nuke bomb based on the player never really using war tactics.. or whatever (is still thinking about this myself) but wow you definitely wrote alot ill add stuff as i read thru the rest of it but yes the planetary conquest needs some depth.

well I didn't finish reading all the posts here but I'll add a few words. Copy-Protection schemed mean nothing to those who truly want to pirate the game all you do is delay the inevitable hell I've used pirated software in the past A) no demo avalible or B) I was poor and really couldn't afford to play it, but I have rich frineds so I got stuck getting it in another way (usually borrowed the install disc).
