Yesterday I played my first game of DA beta 2, first of all it looks great and at least on my computer it ran fine without any major slowdowns. I was going to say that it looked fine and that I had found two issues, until I realized that one ship hitting more than one ship in one round of combat was supposed to happen. The other issue that remains outstanding is that by the time I conquered the Drengin, Korath, and Thalans(I eventually won on culture over the Krynn. I got lazy) all of us,

Does this mean the killer squirrels will get the larger role they so deserve? Back to topic, I'm fond of the Korx, but it seems that they are a bit large for insterstellar mercenaries I like an idea of running the korx similarly to how mercenary units were run in Rome:TW, but more on topic, axe the Korx, and those punks the Drath, somehow I think that after everybody realized the Drath were manipulating them the Drath would not survive too long. I wouldn't cry over the loss of t

Note- This is a silly, dumb, and quite disruptive idea with regards to game balance. That being said, this is the idea. Blowing up planets is too small scale, the busy dictator needs faster ways to rid the galaxy of entire star systems. Specifically by blowing up the stars, now having a starkilling weapon would be a bit overpowered so I say just throw in like 60-100 logistics points worth of ships into the star and watch it go boom. What better way to express my hatred towards the Dren

There are only a few things I have to mention with regards to this. First: Ground invasion where I have to kill everybody on the planet seems a bit extreme, I noticed that you guys made a point of making the AI wise enough that it knows when it's beat. What if that's extended to planetary invasions, lets say the planet I'm invading starts out with a five to one advantage, by the time we're roughly even in troops it should know that it's beat

Perhaps I'm just not as good at GalCiv2, but at times I'm actually impressed by the AI. I was playing with my Korx and had just conquered the Altarians and the Drath when the Thalans (whom I was already at war with) started adjusting to the laser heavy designs I had been using against them (and everyone else) with shields, it was taking whole fleets of my ships to deal with just one or two Thalan frigates so I had to break out missiles on my ship it took longer but they finally surrendered

The last post by the bovine cannibal is certainly an interesting one. I agree that fitting it in to GalCiv2 would essentially change the dynamics of the early game to a huge extent. Though it does make sense that as new habitable planets are found people would gradually move over to them. An addition to that thought would be that you can only build ships on planets that you are essentially in near or complete control of, like your homeworld. Possibly a new UP resolution about a tax on foreigners
