I dont want to install 3rd party software impulse in order to get the latest version galciv 2.01. Does anyone know where I can get a legal download from stardock without having to install impulse. Stardock central won't provide the latest patch.
Great game, but this is a must for future releases hopefully soon. I am finding that when i want to upgrade ships in the shipyard, the little icons at the top left that tell you what the ship has are almost useless, their is no text or info and makes it very hard to work out what level of the item you have in your ship, I t takes ages and a lot of fiddling to remove and check what the item is and what level and space it takes up. There should be a bartering system placed in the Diplomacy screen. Starflight 2 used this where you could haggle and buy and sell goods including artifacts. IIRC if you were unreasonable after several attempts the race would remember you and be more sterner when communicating with you. This was fantastic and made the races more realistic and responsive to how you treated them. If you sold them an artifact that they wanted they would remember this and treat you very favourable. Great game 1. I would like the implemetation of some slow movement in starbases. 2. The ability to also garrison ships or fleets in the starbase that would add to the firepower and defence capabilities of the starbase. it is frustrating having a starbase in an area that was once suitable and not being able to move it to another required location. Would add another dimension to the game.
Option to disable next ship with movement points Destination colored/dotted lines on the map so you know where all your ships are heading to.

I am from Melbourne, Australia. I bought the game from Metro PC, Downloaded the patch was asked for a serial number, keyed this in and no problems at all. For me it was a painless installation. If you want starforce installed on your PC good luck you will have problems with other applications and a nightmare. Hi Thank you The dark blue border option was not a good choice, the various buttons and options are hard to see. No wonder I coundn't find various buttons. I may have to start a new game with another border color that is easier to look at options cheers
Hi, Played this awesome game for few hours. I may be missing something on tech research. How can you go and look at the techs you have already researched . is there a summary screen I can view on techs already researched. thanks
