Suddenly I'm very VERY glad that future versions of Windows are going to sandbox everything.
See, Stardock tests things. Probably more thoroughly than most companies. If they didn't, they wouldn't have survived this long. And more people would be complaining if the problems you had were the problems they had. So my question is this: Are you sure it isn't just your computer?
Hm. Contribution, in the form of bug reports, suggestions, and the like, would be expected and encouraged, and you'd have to be able to tolerate potential horrible horrible bugness. This is, after all, a REAL beta, as opposed to what you might know from Google. If any of that concerns you, stick with 1.0.X.
There's also the matter that controlling ten THOUSAND ships of various classes and intents would be a mind-numbing task for the most part (even if they ALL end up stabbing other people's ships, the HOURS it takes to command and even -process- the moves makes the idea unattractive.
