Double-check under "Options" while in-game that you have event music selected. Does the music play for the movies too? Also does the music play if you play it from the program folder (it is in the "Event Music" folder)?

You might also try raising awareness of the issue in their IRC channel. Developers that frequent the channel may be able to tell you whether or not they are working on the issue. I was able to find out information about a bug I reported in the same fashion.

What type of AGP port do you have, Citizen highlander48? 4X or 8X? The answer might limit your choices some as some of the newer cards may not work on older motherboards. Some, in fact, can fry a motherboard that doesn't support their power requirements.

You can get the latest driver from this site: www.turtlebeach.com/ site/ kb_ftp/ 585ftp.asp (note remove spaces before using - this forum software doesn't like underscores in URLs too much) The latest is 4193 and you are using 4161. You will need to run the "sc_4193.exe" file WDM driver I believe. It is not digitally signed by Microsoft but many, many people are using it with no problems - including myself.

Hmm - maybe you should make the title of your post jive with the content. Maybe something like "Ships changing destinations when not selected" instead of "Selecting ships or fleets." It is more descriptive and may make your posting stand out more.

1280 by 960 sounds like a widescreen format. Are you using a widescreen or "theater" style screen on your laptop? From what I can tell from forum posts, Stardock is saying that widescreen formats are supported fully but that some graphics, especially in some movies, will appear "stretched." As to the drivers, you need to check your laptop manufacturer's website for the most up-to-date drivers. The standard NVidia detonator drivers have be

I don't know about the rest of you folks, but I think I am through trying to help Citizen Heavensblade23. Or even pay attention to him or her any more. Like you said, Citizen Heavensblade23, I can feel free not to read any more of your bitter stubbornness. Cling to your unhappiness as you wish, but do not say I did not try to help you make something more constructive out of what is, at best, a childish rant. A parting word of advice to yo

Biting the hand that feeds again, Citizen Heavensblade23? For free even? I maintain that this is an excellent resource even in its unfinished state. The resource's author promised more when more time was available - to my knowledge. I sincerely hope that the author of this utility ignores the negative prattling of people that are not satisfied with their charitable efforts.

Citizen Heavensblade23 is resisting every attempt to help him out because he or she is now comfortable with, if not proud of, unconstructive complaint concerning the game. He or she returns to generalities when asked for specific concerns to be addressed. And then, of course, he or she complains about anyone that attempts to help him or her with the issues that we have managed to pry out of the complaints that are sodden with epithet and invective.<b

I'm still waiting to hear if Citizen Heavensblade23 looked at that link to the Galactopedia. And to see if he looked at the link about the changelog that contains all the fixes implemented so far from the bugs forum - fixes that show the developers are listening. Seeing no comment on those elements makes me wonder if they were even seen. It also makes me wonder if Citizen Heavensblade23 wants someone to keep trying to help him stay focused

Fix: none. Have to wait for GC3 on that one. Although the same comments were made about GC1 and nothing was done about them, so I don't have much hope for GC3 either. It is comments like that one that I see as mocking the developers, Citizen maxpublic. Most of your other comments are constructive.

Citizen maxpublic , you listed some things in an orderly fashion and voiced your concerns about them. That part is constructive. The part where you postulate "solutions" mocking the developers is not. The original poster was not even as constructive as you were. The game does have some issues right now that you and others have delineated, Max. My approach to that, however, is not as pessimistic as yours. I am only trying to he

Do you read the changelogs that are posted with each update? So far the list of corrections is fairly lengthy and many, many of the issues listed in the bug reports forum have already been addressed. To make it easier on you, as you do not like forums anyway from what you said, here is a link: https://www.galciv2.com/Journals.aspx?AID=104660 <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-T

Clearly you missed this in my previous post, Citizen Heavensblade23, as to an application that was made available to help with some game documentation. It contains mainly research data at this point but is likely to expand more: http://www.kynosarges.de/Galactopedia.html

They know where the manual is wrong better than I do. As a matter of fact the only reason I know it's wrong in places is because they've said it's wrong in places. People that don't read this forum will assume the game is just buggy. Again, it's counterintuitive to have to consult the community to find out how a game mechanic wor

Just to add, if you DID bring up bug reports before that involve your complaints, post some links here to them so people can see what you did to positively contribute to the community. Perhaps they will have experienced the same issue and will follow that link to your posting, creating a critical mass on the issue. This is yet another way you can help out positively even if you have "tried to before" and not received the response you were h

"the manual is incorrect on many points, and I can't look it up in the game anywhere either because the game displays incorrect numbers in some places." Name the points. Name the places. That is the only way that the developers will know what you are talking about. Otherwise that sounds like a "generic complaint" to be ignored. As to farms, strategy may vary - as you said. Perhaps you can take a positive step and empirically e

There is a thing called "constructive criticism" and a thing called "unconstructive criticism." Constructive criticism involves real and sincere yet positive engagement with a process or subject with a focus on improving it for everyone involved. Unconstructive criticism has as its aim a deconstruction or destruction of the process or subject through highly negative means. I find the original poster unconstructive in their criticisms of th

The volume of posts that popular forums experience, the usual cause of forum slowdowns, usually means "good things' for said forums - at least it speaks to their popularity and usually to their usefulness. That being said, I would be curious as to whether they use a PHP/MySQL solution or a slower and buggier Microsoft SQL solution - or something else entirely. Most PHP/MySQL solutions like phpBB can deal with even large volumes of postings fairly eff

I think the fact that Stardock is so timely - and OPEN via the special site used for beta testing - with its regular game updates is one of the main driving forces for sales in addition to the "no copy protection" thing. I guess both are really a breath of fresh air among the smog created by other competing companies. I'll take the time here to mention again that their IRC support and community is also a strong point of the company.
