ance this out, like the starbase idea, would be a great idea.
mrodgers
t though, barring ships/starbases, this isn't going to be a game like Doom 3 or HL2 that requires a major hardware boost due to all the 3d graphics. This game will almost inherently allow for lower end systems.
Great review....you guys must be really proud.
Sweet... can't wait to read the story Frogboy
ards. (of course once the government type had been discovered)
I was looking through some of the screenshots today and was wondering...are the Dread Lords supposed to be a spoof of the Vorlons from Babylon 5. I noticed a very similar type of ship design and maybe a similar energy weapon. Maybe I'm misreading the picture but ..... well any ideas?
iting a dictatorship is vs. republic for say economic benefits.
long as the game is fun, that is what matters. Thats the way it should be......now when we all get together and mod the game or make our own we can try the ideas and see which one works better.
That sounds like a major boost to the political engine vs what we've been hearing....maybe GalCiv 3..?
Sounds like a fun idea but not for this game. Have you ever tried Black and White? You might like that.
User-friendly... are you looking for a stronger version of fog-of-war?
Can you explain that idea a little more? It sounds like a lot of threads we have had i the past so far.
Not such a big fan of the Black Hole idea, but we should definitely have more impact on what happens in the UP and how often it meets.
r each species. I think thats a little much to ask for.
Has anyone considered implementing the events from MOO2 where you could conquer a planet or randomly find natives on a planet and enlist them into your general population. They couldnt travel from the planet but were very useful on that planet in some area. Maybe, for instance, conquering a Dregin colony would give that location a major boost to military production and conquering a Torian colony would give you a huge moral increase on that planet, ma
ability to affect your government's abilities/moralty without adding many techs. i.e. a random event can increase morality 10% while increasing economy 10% or it will lower both in exchange for +10% to military production.
or, again, as Nico56 did allow for a larger transport once you research a particular tech.
plan and China went to a different point. In both cases it was the one that seemed appropriate given the settings of the time. (ignoring what happened to the USSR in the future.)
sounds interesting but oh so much customization. I've asked on the main post how much of this will be practical...heres hoping for a lot of it.
Thanks for the work on the planets, we've been looking forward to it. Not to push it but when will the pictures be ready?
Wish we could do more to help you make this game which sounds like is turning into a game and a half or more of work.
I just wanted to comment that there seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of these threads..... namely many people seem to want many small political engines built into the game: i.e. Campaining in the senate if you lose or nearly lose it, allying not only based on morality but trading amounts, truely custom/tweaked governements, etc. I have heard rumors that some political packages may be released but would like to know from someone who knows to what
o another planet(s)
