Would a 64-bit binary for GC2 2.0 be too much to ask for? ;) GalCiv 2 can really, really push that 2 GB memory barrier, and I still haven't tried TA (with it's new, bigger galaxy size).

The SB Manager does sound like an improvement, but... has anything been done to reduce the micromanagement of actually getting the hordes of constructors to the starbases? Producing and sending constructors is what I found tedious, not picking a module once the constructor gets there.

Has there been any response from Frogboy regarding what issues he plans on tackling? I'm currently waiting for the 2.0 patch before I start a new campaign (I play Immense galaxies - not something you want to get into then feel compelled to restart). If he plans to do something to reduce constructor micromanagement, then I'll be waiting for that before I start a new campaign as well.

I agree completely. Also, it would be nice if it could do more to edit the planets, such as placing bonus tiles, etc.

1. Constructors require far too much micromanagement. Starbase construction and upgrading desperately needs to be streamlined. Perhaps we could be allowed to put multiple construction modules on vessels for repeated use, or they could function like space miners 2. #1 is important above all else. See #1. 3. Special events (not necessarily the super-duper-mega-events) would spice up the game more if they were more frequent 4. Make it possible to add all races t

Steam is already very popular in the nerd scene. Also, the 'cage' that StarDock and Valve have been holding themselves in is a very large cage. In fact, the cage encompasses almost all of the world, except for the small, jail cell-sized areas that Mac and Linux occupy outside of this cage. (Note: I run Linux, but unlike many other open-source advocates, I don't have an inflated view of the significance of the Linux market to game developers.)

Someone else said this, and I agree so I'll express my agreement: Have an option for ships on auto survey to not explore black holes. Also, I'd like to see two things: - Raise the limit on length for ship names and especially starbase names. - Now that we have a larger galaxy size, it would be nice if we could increase the number of races we can put into it.

Anyone know if ship designs made for DA will be compatible with Twilight of the Arnor?

SD simply took the lazy way out with this design decision. I tend to mod the hell out of every (non-FPS) game I play, and I've never encountered an implementation like this. If planetary improvements or ships are suddenly missing data from a mod, they should simply disappear. This isn't perfect, but it saves the player from losing 15 hours of game time because they realize a mod isn't working as intended. Civ IV can gracefully handle the removal of mod components at any time during t

Hello, I've been playing DA with a variety of mods combined, but I've decided that I want to drop one of them from my game (the Ultimate Design Freedom mod). I deleted the xml file used by that mod, but much to my surprise, that didn't accomplish anything. I restored the xml file, and tried changing the values it contains. Again, this did nothing. Nothing I do with this mod seems to have any effect on my current game - the changes only appear after I've started a new game.<br

Is there any way to change race color after a game has started? I didn't realize until long after I started playing that if I had used any color other than black, I'd actually be able to see my ships when the view is zoomed far out... I've taken a look at the save file in the hex editor, but I was unable to find the appropriate bytes.
