Sunday 18 December 2005 - 03:13:43 isn't exactly 'recent'.....that's the date of the last dev build...24.7 Final The last ls dev build is from 23 January 2007, an experimental (possibly unstable although i havent found any problem with it) pre release of 0.24.8, availible on lsdev.org

never heard of that problem before in personal.rc check that LSUseSystemDDE isnt set to false. in the registry check that in Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer DesktopProcess is = 1 dunno if setting open new windows in another porcess inside folder settings would help too.

that tree hasnt been updated in a looong long while, many shells have evolved into something else (litestep: 0.24.7, 0.25, xstep, sidestep; bb4win: bblean, xoblite; sharpe), and others have been created (carbon lokai, metro, ishell (emergedesktop), NeX to name some).

you'll need to replace your desktop icons module to do that, or get a theme that uses xdesktop.dll (newest desktop icons module, let's you drag icons around) instead of icondesk.dll (the one included in the default theme). to do that you'll need to open theme.rc in the theme's folder (i guess your using austerity) and change *netloadmodule icondesk-0.66 for *netloadmodule xdesktop-1.7 for more information read the ots2 theme creation guide http

i dont like the new gripper beheaviour, was easier before (even tried ctrl/alt/shift+left/right/middleclicking, would never have thought of ctrl+f9, as you have to leave the mouse to press it, it's quite an unconfortable election for a key combination, and i dont have an f9 key, had to remove it together with f8 and f12 because they didnt work ).

1. I want to use LiteStep but I won't until someone makes an installer complete with all modules, etc. so all you have to do is install themes. such an installer would weight roughly 35mb, and would be outdated a few weeks after it's release. current module downloading system works fine, with modules bei

you can find tutorials in shell-shocked.org, forums in ls-universe.info, modules in loose-screws.com and the theming standard in o-t-s-sf.net, and if you ever have any trouble there's also #litestep in irc.freenode.net good luck, and have fun

welll dunno about that, but animations work using xlabel havent used layercuts and lsbox in 18 months or so, imo they've been replaced with the far more advanced, usefull, stable and feature-rich xlabel.

xlabel replaces lsbox and layercuts (with labels that can be hooked), supports alphablended pngs. i dont think there's other way, maybe using lsbox-3.0i or skinbox.

the "official" installer's site is http://lsinstaller.loose-screws.com , you can find a faq in http://www.ls-universe.info

with the correct wine config it could be run (afaik it was contemplated to make it the official shell of e/os lx, a linux distro, but reactos wm was chosen instead), but woudnt be integrated as it should.
