I am getting intermittent hangs, every 5-20 turns. If it hangs during a turn I can ctr-alt-del but if it is when a turn is processing then I have to reboot. Very annoying. Game used to run perfectly before I got DA and also upgraded my RAM + video card + wiped my system so I am clueless to what the problem could be, system is 100% stable in other games. Well, Brad and any dev and any fanboy will tell you that the AIs are very different. I have not noticed this in any of my games. What I have noticed is that evil races hate good races and good races hate evil races. If I play the Drath, the Yor and Drengin will aggressively attack me if I don't keep up my military and vice versa. I guess you can call that AI personality. Altarians and Torians seem to focus a bit more on influence than the other races. Besides that and dif
There are no exploits in trading. There are simply good and bad traders. If you found a way to make trading more profitable, then you just became a better trader. Lol, wtf kind of logic is that. So when I traded 100 BC for 150 BC, that wasn't an exploit, I'm a just a super l33t trader? I haven't noticed what you are seeing,
I've pretty much inherited the forums project here at stardock (however, we all work on it). I see that you had pointed out that there were several other posts made on this topic. Please search for replies made by myself to these posts. I've listed some very good reasons in the past. The forums have never enjoyed a constant amount of attention in the past, which is changin
Happened to me too, the uninstall is broken if you installed via the download from Stardock Central. I think I went to control panels -> Add/Remove programs and removed GCII that way
Kosty and cyberj914, go away you worthless fanboys you didn't even read my post. I see bad support from Stardaock and people praise their support so much I point it out that Stardock support is *no better* than most other companies. You can fanboy all you fanboy want at your fanboy house in fanboy land. Go away. post by CariElf in #21 Umm...I don't th
What I don't understand is why you can't change games flagged as cheater. I know you can change metaverse scroing and kill games at will, are you telling me it is impossible to do the opposite? Sure, I expect crashes and the game not working 100% correctly in a beta version, but I also expect the company to help out the people who are beta testing their game ***for free*** (or you can easily argue that they paid ~$50 US to beta test it) Yet another example of Stardocks bad
As for the good and evil special weapons and defence - wtf? they cost too much. 3 or 4 techs more and you get items which might do less but are smaller, cheaper and when you outfit a hull with them you have a ship which does the same but costs half as much. OK sometimes they do make a damn nice ship, but on high difficulty - they just cost the earth/yoy/ toria... you
I captured a size 3 PQ planet. Beta1.2 of course. Here's what was on it: -Colony -Farm -Starport I'm sorry, I can't think of a worse placement besides 2 farms. The AI needs to build differently on PQ6 and below planets. You can either make them pure research planets, pure econ planets or pure industry planets but gd you can't make them jack of all trade planets, there just isn't enough tiles. Small PQ planets are hurting the AI. Using tiles is the basis of go
while in a medium game of Civ 4 you can witness ruthless AIs constantly declaring wars out of a whim, with no reason. I like to know the motives to go to war. Firaxis' AI ( Civ III & 4 ) constantly cheat and instantly trade techs between them; the human player can't. In GalCiv2 you can easily ( maybe too much I admit ) trade techs even at higher levels. This makes th
I agree 100%, except that I stopped playing about 1-2 months ago(I remember playing 1.1 beta 4) and am going to start up again tommorrow. The game is fun, but saying the AI is extremely good is a vast, vast overstatement. Would be nice if there was some random element to make each game different, the AIs certainly aren't doing it.
