Only one person knew the real me. She's gone now, by my own fault. I drove her off. Gave her no chance to respond to my hasty admission that I was (still) in love with her. With her went my hope. I saw something online once. It was about the candles of love, faith, and hope. Or something. My faith candle burned out a lonnnnnnnnng time ago. My love ca

I am close to being 32 years old. I once decided that, if I had not married, finished school, gotten into a career, etc. by the age of 30, my life was over. During the past two years or so, and recent efforts having been complicated by my father's death and my decision to tell someone something that I probably never should've, I've been living my lif
I've just been told by my cousins that they would like me to move to Arizona. Tammy, the one who initiated this, claims that I should be close to family, and that they miss me. Brian said he'd be more than happy if I moved down. Greg said I should move down so I can see them more often. That's what my cousins said. My mom said I shou
Yeah, that seems to be my biiiiiiig problem. I'm glad you replied back. I think you're right, although I'm not too sure about finding someone else. This woman was the only person I've ever met who truly accepted me for who I was (and am) without question. She amazed me. I thought she was "the one" (heh, yeah, so much for my other post about finding "the one") but I guess what keeps kicking me in the arse about this is... I wasn't sure. <BR
I appreciate so, so much your reply, Sally, I can't even tell you. My mind is all mixed up right now and I'm doing anything to try to distract myself. Hopefully, going away next week for Thanksgiving will help. Seeing family always seems to put things into perspective for me. I really have nobody to blame for feeling this way but myself. I let it get a bit out of control, but I think in a way I needed to get a bit of this frustration
Once upon a time... There was a boy. He was a writer, a musician, a teacher, and an overall friendly person. That boy became a man. That man was me. I used to be somebody. I know this sounds strange. Isn't everyone somebody? I suppose, in some twisted way, I still am somebody. Just nobody important. I used to have a
Sally, Hello. You don't know me, I don't know you. It doesn't really matter. When I woke up at 4:30am I couldn't get back to sleep, so I logged in to JU and saw... this. These words, they're so eloquent and carefully chosen, and yet they hardly do you justice I bet. The true feeling must be something you cannot write about no matter how hard you try. Goodbye is such a strong, final word. It seems so rational, under given circumstances
Thanks. I'm really starting to miss that connection, ya know? I don't know. Sometimes I think I *have* had all the chances I'll ever get. If I'm single in 5 years (without having a relationship in that time) I don't know what I'm going to do. There's really not much I can do about that, though. It's whatever fate has in store for me, it seems. I'm going to keep being myself in the meantime and hope... just hope that someone else like my most recent ex
I wasn't really trying to compare the two. I'm still amazed at how big this whole Harry Potter thing has gotten. I doubt Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events will get as big, but I'm curious to see how Jim Carrey will pull of the multiple role thing.
Well, TW, you haven't replied back yet so I'll assume you haven't watched it. Anyone else?
If Auburn can handle an opponent like Georgia and take 'em down like they did, I say let 'em play for the National Championship. I'm not sure who has the toughest schedule between USC, Oklahoma, and Auburn, but each team is undefeated so far. It'll be interesting to see how the BCS works this one out. I myself would love to see Auburn rumble with USC. But if Oklahoma refuses to go down, then things will get very interesting come bowl time. Another team
I feel like I'm just saying "me too" but I agree totally with what Zoomba and Helix wrote. I wonder if Bioware will ever release NWN 2 or just continue to release modules. Whatever they do, I'm usually interested. I've already completed the game (NWN) twice so any new modules (that get good ratings, or are made by Bioware) usually find their way onto my hard drive. If Bioware wants to charge for 'em, more power to them, I say.
As a guy, I have to say what Scott did was very wrong. I'm not sure of the kind of person he is, and I'm not sure if the alcohol was driving his actions, but what he did seems far, far beyond the realm of what I'd consider appropriate or acceptable. It may even be construed as rape, but then again I'm no expert. You had every right to tell someone. Try to put yourself in Lindsay's shoes: wouldn't you want to know? Living with yourself is easy:
Welcome to JU. I can't really answer any of your questions (you're welcome to read my meanderings on the subject of religion though, just check out my blog). I'll repeat what I said over in your other article: don't be afraid of being exactly who you are. You'll get much further in life if you stay true to yourself. Doing things to please other people can be nice, but it's not the meaning of life. So stay "weird" and keep being UnSmelly. <img
I agree 100% with what LeapingLizard wrote above. Hang in there, keep the faith, and eventually the right person will find you. And never quit being yourself. We "unique souls" need companionship and understanding in this life.
Hi, my name is Craig, and I'm an adult who enjoyed the "Harry Potter" series (so far). I've read all five, preordered the sixth one, and can't wait until the seventh one is released. However, my curiosity has been piqued by something ELSE lately... namely, "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events." Perhaps, however, this is only due to the im
Can you believe... In 31 years (or maybe I should limit that to 15 years), I have never ONCE asked someone out on a date? How do I ever get girlfriends, you ask? Well, it just kinda happens. At least, it used to. I don't know what you wanna call it: fear of rejection, fear of being laughed at, or fear of someone breaking my heart, but whatever it is,
NOTE: Contains massive SPOILERS. Since this is already out on DVD, it means the statute of limitations is up on giving away stuff. I have to admit, I rented "The Stepford Wives" with a bit of trepidation. I'd seen the original, which was rather alarmingly gloomy (it didn't have a very happy ending) but poignant. This version had gotten mixed reviews. But once
You could always make me laugh. That was the most important part. No matter how bad life got, no matter how tough my day had been, no matter what I was thinking, you could always make me laugh. Or at least smile. You knew me better than I knew myself. You dared to understand me, to accept me, to deal with my inconsistencies. You gave me a chan
I have way too much time on my hands nowadays. Hence, I am able to come up with the following (insightful meanderings or mindless drivel, you decide): Why am I here? I know this question smacks of unoriginality, but lately I've been a bit lost as to my exact purpose in life, and I can't seem to find my way. Who am I? Actually, this should probably be "
Aw, man! Well, so much for my idea. Hope you feel better soon, TW.
NOTE: Contains SPOILERS. You may avert your eyes if you haven't seen the movie. Meet Bob Parr, a.k.a. Mr. Incredible. When our story begins, he's busily saving the world from the bad guys (trying to juggle several jobs at once, too) and also dealing with a rather, *ahem*, persistent fan. Eventually, through what can only be explained as "movie logic," Mr. Inc
Call me stupid. Call me whatever you like. I told her the truth. In case you haven't been keeping score, I'm talking about a girl I've been friends with for a while, on the 'net, with whom I've shared a unique connection that I frankly very highly doubt I'll ever find again. Maybe she was the one, but oh fucking well. Many people don't find that, no
Love = How do you define this? It's hard. I can say "I love pizza" as easily as I might say "I love you" but the meaning would be totally different. When I say "I love you" to someone, it also has a different meaning depending on who I'm talking to. If I'm talking to my mom, it obviously means in a familial way. If I'm talking to a woman, it means in a romantic way. Unless, of course, I say it as a joke, which I sometimes do. Bad me. Sex = strictly
I dunno. It was the first thing that popped in my head, although it could very well be nothing. Worth checking, definitely, if this sort of thing continues. If you're really concerned/worried or maybe even hopeful I'd go to a qualified professional and take a test. But you already knew that.
