It isn't returned to the treasury, it is automatically redirected to military production on a planet not building any social improvements.

Being an outsider can be a good thing. Too many industries and companies suffer from "groupthink", and the gaming industry is no exception. Whether it be copy protection or ignoring low-end hardware, or sticking to old development models, people get caught up in "that's the way it has always been done" and never think outside the box. Stardock's strengths lie not in doing what everyone else does, but seeing the opportunities in being different and unique. I still can run Galciv2 on a

This is something that I have wanted for a while, but there is somethign to be said about the simplicity of the governments as they are. In Civ4, it's hard to know what combination of government features work best when...and if you have spies you always know war is coming if an opponent switches to a specific combo of governments. If this could be done in a way that didn't over complicate the system, I'd definately be for it.

I didn't see a bug reports section for Dark Avatar, so I'm posting it here. The Discovery Spheres are not auto-upgrading to Neutrality Learning Centers anymore in Dark Avatar. This was fixed in an older patch for dreadlords, but the same problem exists now. It is a pain to have to go throuhg every planet and do it manually. Is it possible to get this fixed like it was for Dread Lords? thanks

Minisoldiers is supposed to have a chance of destroying planetary improvemments. Well, in over 20 games, using this invasion tactic has resulted in the loss of exactly ZERO planetary improvements. It worked in 1.0, but hasnt in the last couple betas.] Basically give yoruself a 40% bonus in invasion without side effects! wahooo! jk seriously i do believe this is a bug

as of 1.0X, the privateer would not only not protect against destroying freighters, but eventually you could lose the trade route, contrary to another poster (ive seen it happen to me). Not sure if its fixed in th e 1.1beta2 yet or not.

I preordered my copy online direct from stardock a LONG time ago so I could play around with the beta. Did I get the collectors edition? It doesn't say so in my software...if I didn't I'd be a lil miffed that I pre-ordered direct from the source to help fund the production and didn't get hte CE. None of my parts say " collectors edition" in the ship builder.

oh, i totally didnt mean we should emulate civ4, i was just stating that was one solution to this exploit. The AI *DOES* use this exploit....but only if you come begging for peace. For example, i made peace with the Degrins, who were kicking my butt. Peace cost a lot, but I was willing to pay for it. 3 turns later (no joke, 3 turns) , they ATTACKED ME! This happens regularly if you are weaker militarily. The penalty for backstabbi

I hate pointing out other games, but this has been an issue/exploit that both the AI and I can use (and the AI uses it all the time): Get a peace treaty , and extort techs/money out of opponent. Wait 3 turns (or less). Attack. Rinse and repeat. In Civ4, if you sign a peace treaty, you have to wait 10 turns (i think its 10 turns) before you can attack again. If you give tribute as a means to secure a peace treaty (either you OR
