Thx for the answer To answer to you the limited time available is the factor. investing even a few hours to try out a strategy that could completely screw the game means around 2 weeks of gametime for me being able to play around 30 min every 2-3 days :) Now i know they still works (d'oh...unfortunatly) and just need to tune it to my own playstyle.

It's so hard for all the people in the forums to say : - Yes they are the only viable strategy to play at higher level - No they're no longer a viable option because.... - I have never heard of that strategy
Macross/Robotech mod all the way :) A shame i couldnt find ANY working macross/robotech mod for any games, if i missed any can u point that to me loved the settings :)
Greetings I was wondering if the All Lab / All Factories strategy still works in Dark Avatar latest version. My hope is they dont anymore, and if they dont care to explain what game design changed prevented them for being effective ? (especially the OP all lab approach) Thank u Bisio
It would be very nice if it was a 'simple' task... However i suspect is not such a trivial matter and for the time being i guess it's better if all efforts are focused on improving the game as it is... in the future who knows i'd certainly would love it !
I 'm very glad this topic seems to have taken off and many people playing at higher level have found out this 'strange behaviour' If someone would be so kind to list all this 'suspicious behaviour' both already posted both new on a good layout maybe we can point them to some dev for review In the end is our feedback which may help the devs

Symeris : Thanks for your imput aswell. Your point is well taken and i hope there is some truth in there (i don't code the ai so i can't be sure) ... however i tend to disagree. If a planet have a 300% manufacturing tile i *always* use it as a factory because imho the advantage are far more relevant than disadvantage... this may open to discussion however so for now i'll leave it out of the consideration. About your 'mic
I didn't know that, thanks for the imput! However i find this behaviour mostly on Homeplanet which are , especially in the very beginning of the game, well under the ai influence border ! After you have High espionage level you can check all AI planet so you can check for yourself in your own game without conquering them... i found out that on 30 planets left (playing on large with all AI this is the amount of planet i usually don
Hello! I was wondering if you're experiencing the same trouble with AI as i am right now. To start i play only on very high AI settings which *should* provide a challenge. In reality (tried several game with ai on intelligent/genius and one time even incredible) it seems AI planet are extremely poorly developed no matter the race and the game settings. It seems the ai prioritize a lot culture enhancing building (which i
Not played this scenario. However playing on a Large map with all AI on genius or more usually *all planets* are taken within the first 20 turns (i usually take 5-6 in those 20 turns, each ai manage from 5 to 8)
Here is my current strategy which worked so well till crippling (all ai on genius) 1) Go for diplomacy tech early on and don't share them 2) Techtrade with opponents buying their tech and reselling them to all others ai 3) After you've at least 2-3 diplomacy enhancing tech more than your opponent use your huge money reserve accumulated from 2 to buy mining starbase (if mining starbases are owned by minor simply blow them up and the
Happened here aswell For me usually happens when you invade a planet with X troops , use information to gain additional Y troop and you win the battle with Numeric example : You invade with 1000 troops , through information you subvert 200. You conquer the planet with 100 troops
Nice post If for item 4 you refer for the non - adding of the tech trade i can confirm it , it happens all the time and it's VERY annoying Just start a new game on crippling - masochist , run 10 turns and try it Always regarding tech trading i spent around 75% of my time on the diplomacy screen : it's obvious something is wrong here.... If there would be a 'what woul
That depends on the kind of player you're. I had lot of success playing with only 3 planets against 7-8 of the ai playing a full diplomatic game (on challenge settings). In my current game i managed to colonize only 6 planets (of which only one very good : 18) against the 8-10 of each AI (all AI on genius) and now after 10 hour of gameplay i have around 20 planets and waging war with around 50 large ships against hundreds of medium draths ship popping out every turn (they h
Large Map against 9 Genius AI (playing on Crippling difficulty level) Happened twice both after my succesful invasion of high quality planet full of embassy (quality 18-19)
Happened the same to me aswell https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=105055&cmd=myposts
Hello! While i was playing a game on CRIPPLING difficulty level (all ai on Genius) it happened after conquering 3 thalan worlds in 2 turns to have all quadrants completely under my influence. Almost everywhere AI planets had the 'revolt' flag and in the end one planet quite far from my border revolted to me (an altarian planet ) , after 2-3 turns everything returned to normal and each empire got back their influence sphere. In the
Mmm for some problem i seems to be unable to connect to those page... If it is'nt too much to ask would you zip all the stuff and upload it somewhere ? (rapidshare.de maybe or similar) Thank you!!!
Greetings!! After some digging i found out in metaversedata/english/techtree.xml all the tech info including cost to research and this aivalue which i guess is how much the ai consider a particular ai 'worth' for an exchange. Well let just say this aivalue , very differently from other strategy game like civ4, has absolutely no connection to how much research points are needed. For instance picking someone at random <br/
