Do you think there is any chance that Stardock will release the SDK, or at least in a future patch (1.4 or after the exp.) that will add more support for modding. Kind of in the way of what Civ4 has?
JakeCourtney
They need to release the SDK so we can add more to this game.
They are a small company. They like to make updates for there games. They wouldn't be able to put out the kind of massive updates for the single player game if they had to keep catering to fix multiplayer issues. I say they should implment it on the LAN side, but have no support for it. It's just the game isn't built for multiplayer. It would need rule changes and all the mass.
Galactic Civilizations II is a good game, but it needs more depth to it. It just seems there is no little real stratagy to it. I believe they spent to much time working with pretty graphics. A lot of things are just tacked on to add useless stuff to the feature list. The UP for example is completely useless and its just a tack-on feature. There is really no Micro-management in this game. You just have three sliders and a tech menu. The diplomacy is very flat. It just needs more u
Maybe it's just that SPACE games seem more real to you, because they are based on complete fiction.
@John For one I'm happily married so that whole anti-social complex you just described holds no value. Now get back to your Star Trek episode. You also assume that I'm fat which is also incorrect for I actually exercise. Unlike you who probably just skateboards or some other degenerate sport.
Basicly, It sounds as though you only like fast-pace CLICKERS. That have no real stratagy at all. Just build a lot of units as fast as you can, then attack by clicking the right-mouse button. Obviously you can't handle real stratagy or you are bored by it. Save your money then or gain some patience.
Update drivers, reinstall, redownload.
I'd recommend getting a console system, and giving your serial key away to someone else.
I'm hoping mods will bring some shimmer pack, plus there is always patches and expasions.
They could, but they won't. Besides, I wasn't talking about the demo. In fact, I pick the game up tomorrow.
Just got done playing the demo. Actually been playing for awhile, couple of hours actually. I couldn't stop, kind of disappointing having the demo timer cut you off when you are hooked. I decided to download the Demo after getting into Master of Orion III. That game has crappy graphics, but lots of depth. I don't really care for the battle system though. I just wish that GalCiv2 would include some of the MooIII features. I really like how in MooIII you can purpose you
More military options. Nuking planets, capturing ships, deploying carries, repair ships, space mines, territory marking, cloaked ships Is there any way Modders can constuct on mod that does this stuff?
More United Planets options, make it really deep. Deeper trading, maybe specfic goods. MORE SHIP stuff, but I would love to have really deep United Planet actions. Making your own bills and stuff.
