Oh disregard me. Wanted to point out the 2gb limit for windows being the issue not low end machines. If you guys want it takes me about 15-20 minutes to load/save a gigantic galaxy the first time (secondary saves are faster). Although that might just be perceptions, I have really large load times if that might help with something, let me know what to look for.

Basically each item for a ship has 2 parts, the base size and the "scaled" size. The base size is the same all the time. Some things only have a base size. Life support maybe? Scaled Size is "kinda" like a percentage of the overall size of the ship. These things tend to not benefit from being made smaller all to much.

I tend to play gigantic galaxies and have a couple problems overall. First problem is having to select each of the improvements. It'd be nice to have a set of scripts based on planet size that allow me to not have to double click each improvement. If there is a bonus tile I can still change what is built somewhere but an initial build selection would be nice. Hmm this might explain the odd crash I keep having. Its seemingly random, but typically happens only on Gigantic Abundant/Abundant. And before that crash, it would crash due to running out of Vmem.

I had commented on Quarter To Three that no one was taking points off of Oblivion for not having multiplayer -- an RPG after all. Don't forget that minituration doesn't apply equally to all things. That is what you are seeing for the increase in size typically.
People complaining about the Yor must not have my experience - they're almost always one of the first groups to be destroyed. One I saw this in the first few games (as custom race) I started playing as them. I love being at a disadvantage like that. Unless I get lucky I almost always end
Actually the races do all act differently. Play with say 4 races at a time with it on random. You play the same each time and watch how the game unfolds differently. Play the campiagn also, it kinda highlights some of the things. Also keep track of the alignments of the other races when you start noticing people dieing and races falling. One game I played had a single good race. It was easy as pie for me to convince
I like morale. Lets me tax more, and have higher populations. I also love stock exchanges. I'd rather have the double population growth early game then the ecomonic bonus helping later on. However I will have to try with the econ bonus. Maybe it will let me lower the tax rate and still have pos income with a 100% approval more often. (Last few games I ran at 100% the whole game) Oh yeah I try to keep spending at 100% always.
I've always been picking Populists for the moral. My strat has been revolving around high moral to boost taxes and keep the growth rate high. Love having 50%+ at 79 tax rate or 100% (growth bonuses now) at like 39%

Even if just empty circles represent stars/planets and then the appropriate icons for the other things you can see on the minimap.
