Actually, it looks like it did, but... - increased size to be more in line with the Hyperion and Olympus Class, note that I had to remove the rotating hull animation because with it the game wasnt able to scale the ship correctly (way too large on the galactic map, or way too small in combat depending on the models real size) <br/

I wonder if it would be possible to make rotating components on the ships. For example, one that once you install it constantly rotates around its center axis. My Angel's Pencil ships just don't look right without their outer ring spinning, and the same goes for Babylon 5 style ships.
First game: Altarian Torian Terran Arcean Drengin Yor First Game Expansion: Drath Korx Second Game: Iconian Thalian I think that the higher up on this list they are, the more likely to be eliminated they are. I doubt they'd eliminate the new races (except maybe the Thalians.) I'm starting to think Iconians are my favorite race in the game. I think I'm going to switch over to them once I win my 10th game as Terran.
I always play good, mostly because I dislike playing evil and neutral is just too bland. The fancy defenses, empathy center and empathic defense constructs are nice too. I usually load up on the special defenses on my ships and rarely take any damage at all in combat.
Microsoft has NOT developed a single application on its own. They are a marketing giant. Every program that Microsoft now holds the distribution rights to was once owned and developed by another company. Who did they buy Microsoft Bob from? They deserve their money back. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif"
Heh, I tend to be somewhat vengeful on races that do this. Towards the endgame I had culturally squished everyone but the Arceans and Torians. The arceans had a cluster in one corner and the Torians had one in another corner. I had combat ships near both clusters and wiped out the torian's entire navy. When they surrendered to the arceans I declared war on them, took all the former Torian worlds by force (killing their entire population) then slaughtered the Arcean's navy and they finally surren
Using .15 of the beta... Population is showing up as 0.001000560T Shouldn't this be 1.000560T? I just kept absorbing huge planets from my culture war here...
Yes, the dual core FX chip would also need the patch.
You also have to consider that Console Software and Games are developed on a PC itself. Again, as previously stated above PC's aren't slated toward a specific use, they are much more versatile, which explains such steep prices for hardware. That argument falls down when you consider that a computer th
If they end up with the anti-used game protections that have been patented, that will completely and utterly negate this advantage of consoles. Personally, I use both consoles and PC games. The upside to PC games is all of the independant games and games with more advanced interfaces, the downside to them is the cost of game related upgrades, the copy protection that makes PCs much less useful for other tasks when they're installed, and unev
Fix the problem where ships gifted to minor races end up with 0/X movement and never recover any movement points in subsequent rounds. This really hurts when I'm trying to proxy-war the major races.
All three can be effective if your enemy doesn't have defenses for them. Missiles take up more space, but deal more damage for that space than the other two classes.
No, that would be bad. Besides, you can typically find the unprotected copies anyway once you own the game.
Heh. Galciv2, Final Fantasy 11, and a handful of development tools are the only reasons I still use Windows too.
Well, making it so you can only move things from a single (currently focused) stack sector would go a long way towards improving this. It's only a minor issue for me but I have been hit by it a couple times. Getting rid of multiple moves entirely would be a pain. I frequently select an entire ship stack of Constructors and move them all at once with this.
As far as surrendering to their allies is concerned, I can't think of really good examples in history. Maybe there was some example in the roman republic. They gobbled quite a few empires up with treaties and the like as part of a diplomatic package to protect them from their neighbours.
That's what a culture takeover does. It kicks the government out and keeps the people. Governments in Galciv are mean and during an invasion they give all their people pitchforks and expect them to fight to the end. That's what Japan was going to do if we invaded during WW2, and it was only after we demostrated our military technology superiority that they surrendered, in much the same way that if you strip away every ship the enemy has and
I use a whole range of names. Constructors: Builder, Fabber, RapidFab... Colony: Rapidcol, Angel's Pencil (From the Niven short story.) Freighters: Dromedary Transport: Barbarian, Tarantula Huge class warships: Angelic Beam (for a 40/0/0 beam warship) Small class: Raptor, Rapier, Scimitar, TroopZapper (anti-transport fighter), RapidZapper, RapidDuo, RapidNuker, Aegis Beast. Tiny class: Hornet Revisio
I notice the puny-starbase problem alot, but a good percentage of the planets I take over have a fairly good buildout on them. There are exceptions however. Frequently they waste food bonuses permanently by putting galactic achevements or trade goods on them. Sometimes they also waste morale bonus tiles. They are usually pretty good about using manufacturing and research tiles though. I usually do a little bit of tweaking on the planets after I get the
Hey cool, that means I can make my Tarantula class troop carrier really look like a spider.
You know how you mentioned alternate ways of displaying the sliders? I love how you can split your tax rate and production rate, but it would be nice to have a seperate slider for Research spending and Industrial spending rather than lumping them together. The social vs. military sliders then could be left, or shifted to the planet screen. I'm not picky. Even th
(The new Reeducation Center galactic achevement is aggravating though to us people who like to try and win military conquests with influence.
In one of the campaign games, I built a chain of military bases chained down to one of their planets so I would have the range to get at them. They spent something like 3 ships trying to take out the furthest one before I got one of my ships down there to blast the remaining fighters. This was only 1/1/1 attack on the starbase though. It took it months to get back to full HP... Influence starbases are indispensible though. Note:
My first targets are always some mid-range weapon tech, and to charge down the sensor tree first and get Eyes of the Universe built. Once you get that actually putting sensors on your ship becomes redundant. Having high speed ships with Eyes of the Universe is incredibly empowering, especially against the Dreadlords. After that I do a good bit of spreading out, Engines and weapon techs over defensive techs. I'll start putting defensive techs
They show up all the time for me, but I generally have to rotate the view around to the back side of the planets to see the lights.
