I have also seen this bug a few times. It does not appear to be anything to do with the AI settings. I can start a game on crippling and if I don't like the looks of my starting position then I use CTRL-N until I get a reasonable galaxy. Sometimes I find that having done this, none of the AIs do anything. I also saw this bug in Dread Lords.

I've had to disable the Drengin in order to play a decent game. Their super power seems to take over the AI calculations to the point where it can take 30 minutes per turn (after which I kill the process and go for a cup of tea...). It needs some tuning but that's why we're here!
I too have the same problem. The previous version (1.0) worked fine so I downloaded the current beta and all the button text has disappeared. Tried uninstalling and re-installing everything twice now and still the same problem. Come on Stardock! I can't believe this is a driver problem - the darn thing worked before!
Just installed 1.10[b2].010 to find that the text is missing from ALL buttons on the interface - starting with those on the main menu screen. Any ideas?
Yeah - that fixed things. I get so used to putting my laptop into either standby or hibernate that it rarely gets a complete restart. Should of thought of that myself! 0.12 is vastly more stable than 0.11 - try as I might, I cannot get it to crash although I'll keep trying to break it.....
I had Beta 0.11 working fine (apart from the odd crash) and it looks superb. Downloaded 0.12 yesterday and now there is no text on any of the buttons from the main menu, game setup options, through to the game itself. I just get lots of empty grey boxes. My memory is not up to remembering what was on them all! Hopefully the next beta won't be too long....
One point I'd hope to be sorted in GalCiv II concerns the trading and tribute side of diplomacy. At present if you give tribute to a civilisation for say 20 turns (in order to buy a technology or because it's being extorted out of you), and that civilisation then attacks say 5 turns later, you still pay the tribute for the remaining 15 turns despite being at war with eachother. The same thing applies to the exchange of trade goods. As soon as war br
