Back to miniturization - the tone of the original poster leaves much to be desired, but . . . The fact is, improving your miniturization can result in LOSING space on a ship. I thought this was wiidely known, an admited problem with rounding, and I did expect it fixed sometime. Is the current claim "works as designed"? I don't like that answer, but as long as Stardock knows the issue is real (things that used to fit no longer do when you improve your miniturization), I can live with it.

If you have 20 attack, that means you will do somewhere between 0 and 20 points of damage per shot - just like his 5 attack will do 0 to 5 points. So ALL outcomes are possible. He could do 0 damage to you on his first shot, and you'd live - IF you did more than 10 damage on your first shot. The most likely outcome is probably mutual destruction, but it ain't certain.
Until the latest beta, the UP resolution meant speed is (e.g.) 5, period. Not minimum, not base, just speed = 5, plus whatever global speed modifiers you might have. Extra engines not used . . . Sounds like the resolution WAS the cause of the original problem. The beta fixes this problem with the resolution.
Nope, hitting enter is no help, and the game doesn't crash, it just . . . sits there. Thanks for the (attempted) help, though.
So, I've seen the bug where the turn button disapears a few times - no big deal. It always came back for me. This time, it didn't, so I tried a quick save and load. That brought the turn button back, but clicking it accomplishes nothing - it's like the click never really happens. I have a save game I can email, but I thought I'd check for ideas here - I've checked for any ships with moves and etc. There aren't any. The Enter key, Spacebar, Tab - none of 'em help.
2) There is a starbases list you can access from the ship screen - the Ship tab of the Planet list lets you select Starbases (as well as your ships/all ships and . . . 1 more choice?).
I've seen this too - Fundamentalists (very WEAK Fundamentalists, compared to what I recall from GC1) appearing without any Fundamentalist "event" occuring. Another "event" related oddity - the Torians (as I recall) experience the radical change in culture event, and I am told about it. But 10+ turns back, the entire Torian civilization had surrendered to me . . . Sorry, no save game for either - but I'll save one if they happen again.
I've seen this too - when no one has Star Democracy, let alone Star Federation, the UP vote for Democracy puts everyone on Federation. I assume the tech requirements are intentionally ignored here - the UP vote doesn't care whether you have the tech or not, you get the government regardless. But it should be a Democracy, not a Federation.
OK, the manual says that if you have the "right" defense for a particular weapon (chaff for missle, armor for mass driver, etc.), it is counted at full value. If you have the wrong defense, the sqaure root is used. However, it also says that all attack factors are added together and fired as a single shot. So . . . let's say my ship has Attack 1 Laser and Attack 9 Missle, and fires at a ship with Defense 9 Shield. Does that mean my attack of 10 is
