The fleet battle AI needs to learn the phrase: pick on someone your own size! So two fleets with dreadnoughts engage. You are attacking, and what does your dreadknought do? It empties its arsenals on 1 or at best 2 medium hulled near-top-of-line enemy ships! This is really a terrible tactic. While your fleet tackles all the enemy small vessels, enemy dreadnoughts sit there safe and sound and pick off your dreadnought one at a time

The problem is probably due to cultural influence and morale. If the Independent League is generating the most about of cultural influences in sectors your planets are located in, your planets will be in trouble, morale will plummet, and they will switch allegiance. Galciv and Altarian prophecy are a game about starbases, literally. Google around for strategy guides at fan sites. People have figured out crazy formulas for generating huge amount of cash from
The UI right now generates, for each planet completing a job, a message icon - it can get REALLY tedious to move the mouse back and forth click on the icons. Surely, you can scroll "previous" or "next" planet - what would be a better is only 1 job icon is displayed. An overview UI screen comes up when that icon is clicked. On this overview UI screen, it will display 1) a list of planets completing a job last term, 2) the job (project) completed, 3) the next qu
I agree with you in the general direction - having a big empire with tens if not hundreds of spaceship producing facilities is a...nightmare. For players, at least. (And even if it is not, just look at AI players. Every planet of theirs is building ships... I do not understand why designers cannot escape from this planet-bound notion that ships must be built in or around a planet. This is probably like saying, every state has a car factory or a tank factory
k, that makes sense. But "starving" people inside it.... that can be a stretch.
l the resource-/part-manufacturing spots or strategically situated) will make sense. Factories/production in space ought to confer an advantage over production planetside as well.
s needs to build as many starships as it likes ... Just my 2 cents of wild ideas.
planets as major building sites. Instead, switch to a few major spacedocks and/or (largely) robotic/automated ship-building (largely unmanned) moon/planets.
It is best if ships can be easily upgraded, instead of littering all kinds of obsolete ship designs/ships that need to be actively managed...
