I just enhanced the colonization behavior for some of the AIs to be better about expanding. Drengin, Yor, etc.

Yea, a GalCiv III would be able to leverage what we do in Elemental. GalCiv II was really a derivative of GalCiv I wihich in itself was a derivative of The Corporate Machine. Elemental, by contrast, is whole cloth new. GalCiv II certainly shipped complete (AlFonse has a 2+ year disagreement with that view). But the game's success has allowed us to continue to polish the game and enhnace it but we're ultimately limited by the engine which is a patched up 9 year ol
Thanks for the info. I have the IT team looking into it. The main issue (and this is why we had to stop supporting SDC for updates) is there's a ton of permutations for Impulse to handle so they're struggling a bit. Hopefully we'll have this resolved shortly.
If you'd give a little more info we could try to help you.
I think for the most part what you see is the effect of a limited budget. GalCiv II had something like a $600,000 budget. A future GalCiv III would have a much larger budget which would fill in a lot of the rough patches. I think Elemental will really demonstrate what we can do when we have a good budget to work with.
This still blows. Rationalizing your decision to now not have the 2.0 update on SDC because it's too much work after you promised that it would be is just weak. Stardock is a lesser company in my eyes because of this.
Let's get this cleared up: Stardock never "promised" 2.0 on SDC. A developer on GalCiv said in a comment on a forum post that it would. Perhaps you would prefer we have a policy that from here on out developers don't hang out on forums because
you guys ssaid that this would be on SDC and it would be the last. So why has this change !!!???
I never said it would be on SDC. Look, guys, you can't have it both ways. If you want the development team to hang out on the forums, then you're going to have to accept that sometimes individuals on the team may say something that isn't company policy. The GalCiv team has nothing to do with Impulse or SDC. So they can't really speak for what they
The main change to Dark Avatar was the espionage changes. The rest is Twilight.
GalCiv II v2.0 will not be on Stardock Central. It would require additional development on Stardock Central in order to handle all of the permutations in which GalCiv is available to support 2.0. For those of you who have problems with Impulse, we'll make sure we resolve them as soon as possible. As you can see from some of the posts, even with Impulse it's been a challenge to deal with all the different ways GalCiv is available in various combinations.

Elemental announced!
GalCiv II.
It's goig to be awhile before there's a GalCiv III. First we have to do the fantasy strategy game. Then we can look and see what to make after that. But I will be tweaking GalCiv II for some time to come as I play it. But there's so much I want to do in a GalCiv III that aren't in GalCiv II and really can't. GalCiv III would be a very different animal than II.
Stardock has been busy this summer enhancing Galactic Civilizations II with lots of new features. Most of those features will be for players who have purchased Twilight of the Arnor. But Dark Avatar users will also s
If I recall correctly, the retail, out-of-box version of Galactic Civilizations II was extremely buggy, to the point of being unplayable. I actually stopped playing the game to wait for an update to fix some of the atrocious (some incredibly obvious) bugs that shipped with the game. It was clear that the game had been rushed out to fit some release schedule instead of thoroughly testing it.t.
I don't agree at all with that. &nb
Back by popular demand, Tom Francis of PC Gamer UK has begun writing a new epic diary of a Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor game. The first one, released last year, was insanely good. This is an absolute must-read. Check it out here: <a href="http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.p

Also, Stardock isn't for sale.

It is like asking a millioniare to pay 8000 dollars in tax in a year.
Yes, if the $160k was your primary tax. Most states don't have anything like this. This is $160K on TOP of Stardock's corporate taxes. The state is making good on addressing this issue with us. Michigan is simply

I'll look into this! I'm always looking for an excuse to update the AI. :)
Stardock has released Galactic Civilizations II: Twilight of the Arnor v1.96. This is a pretty major update despite the version numbering. Our goal with this update was to address as much of the player feedback we could in the time available. Our next stop is to work on Galactic Civi
I fear I would end up with a negative score. :)
I like this as an option. I'll look into it.
