When playing as custom race (based on the Drengin set), the basic ship models you get (when new techs are discovered) use the Human-style ship models. For example, look at the basic "constructor" ship that your custom race gets - it is the same one that the humans get, even when you picked a different model set.

There is a GNN status report that uses the string "all is quiet for the humans" even when you are not playing the humans.

No message/report is shown when an AI race surrenders to another AI.

I had an CTD with invalid call in the following circumstances.
- my screensaver had just kicked in
- I noticed this, moved the mouse to refresh the screen
- this resulted in a CTD with "Invalid call"

minor items, still human-specific text in:
- the colonization event with the weird octopus-like beings still mentions that they are 5 average human lengths...
the "human" could be replaced by the player race, even if that would mean that for each race the octopi would have a
different length. I think I saw this posted somewhere before, but can no longer find it.

- the election preview still mentions that based on the various government types "Earth's colonies" become ever more
independent. If you change that to "your colonies" it would be race-neutral.

a few more minor Tech tree errors in addition to what's mentioned in #143
- Plasma WeaSpons III; has an extra "s"
- Miniaturization is only spelled correctly once (with enhanced), and is missing an A for all others (5 times)

I have build a factory on a title that is suposed to give 200% bonus to manufacturing. But when I look at the calculation, the bonus isn't applied

On the foreign policy (FP) Report screen, the right arrow (next race) next to the "speak to" button does not work correctly if you look at the order of the opponents tabs on this screen.
Instead of moving right, it moves left, and eventually gets stuck at the leftmost race, instead of wrapping around.
The left button works correctly, as do both these buttons on the FP Relations and FP Treaties screens.

Also, while you have the FP screen open at any tab, moving the mouse to the bottom edge of the screen makes the main map scroll down (behind the FP screen). This does not happen on the top , left or right sides of the screen.

On the Domestic Policy (DP) Graphs screen:

- usability item: when you've scrolled the displayed graphs to the right to see things like technology, its ANNOYING that when you change the race to compare against, the scrolling goes straight back to the left.... IMO it would be much easier if the same columns would be shown after the change, to allow you to easily compare them between races.

- bug: selecting the population bars will always show the opponents as having 0m Citizens in the summary on the left.

- question: the morale might is apparenly not maxed at 100...
it is not clear which categories (popularity ?) have 100 as highest possible, and which are open-ended.

- bug: treasury: one race (Altarians in my example) are at 495 might, all the others including me (Torian) are at 0 might...
My treasury contains 1432 BC, and my treasury ranking on the DP Stats screen mentions 1st position.

Comparing the DP Stats to the DP Graphs info shows inconsistencies:

- bug: having the largest population (true, and on Graphs) results in having the lowest Population ranking in the Stats. This may have something to do with the reversed order in some rankings I've seen reported, together with the 0m population reported for all other races on the Graphs screen.

- bug: technology shows me as 5th (last) on the Stats, while the Graphs show that at least the Drengin have a lower Tech might rating than i have. All others are higher, I should probably be 4th, so not a simple order reversal.

- bug:production shows me as 4th of 5 (Stats), while graphs shows me having 190 compared to 110 for the best other.
Again a case of a reversed order ?

Some more Tech Tree remarks:

- I hope the fact that the final 4 ARMOR techs (from ADAMANTIUM onward) do not bring new ship components is due to the fact that it has not been implemented yet. All other defenses seem to give new components through to the last tech.
- the final Missile defense tech (AEREON) has as improvement Hyper Computers... Does that help Missile Defense ?
- Is there a logical reason why Sensor 3, 4 and 5 give you Sensors mark IV, V and VI ? An why is Sensors II (with an plural s) not called Sensor2 ?
- Life Support improves from Extended to Advanced... but Xeno Farm construction from Advanced (III) to Extended (IV).

The information box on the main screen shows some minor problems when you click upon a star.
I'm playing the Central Powers map with 4 opponents.

- one of the planets (the rightmost, Athol) shows 4 habitable planets (OK), 3 colonized planets (not OK). On the main and mini maps, clearly all 4 planets are colonized and owned by the Arcean Empire. I have seen this bug listed elsewhere.

- the central star (Torus, as I'm playing Torian) shows everything correctly, but it gets a scrollbar as the list of owner names is too long to fit in the window. Scrolling works via the up/down arrows in the box, or via the scroll mouse when it's positioned exactly ion the scroll bar, but not via the scroll mouse when the pointer is located in the text area.

1) smooth scrolling - when you have follow autopilot ships on (which I like to do) the panning to the various ships is very jerky (it jumps there rather than scrolls), this makes it virtually impossible to orientate on the map where it jumps to and therefore where your ship is located and heading. A smoother, perhaps accelerating pan would be easier to follow with the eye and look pretty cool I think.

2) Game totally locked up on me when I was clicking in the mini-map and scrolling the mouse wheel.

3) I get frustrated not being able to 'centre' the mini-map on my selected ship or when I click on the mini-map near its edge, I sort of expect it to re-orientate around my mouse click but it doesn't.. Also zooming with the mouse-wheel is very jerky.

4) I am getting ships in orbit shown as icons on the lower info pannel around planets when I select them where there aren't populations or ship icons - from any player including my own.

5) Ship ranges in the greyscales on the mini map aren't easy to follow with all of the other grey shade stuff going on there.

6) I love the isometric views, my vote is the slightly less steep one of the two iso views should be the default view.

When you zoom out the map you get a little square in a big chunk of space, maybe making the map to fit the screen?

In all the games that I played with 0.77 version I noticed that the image of the ship that I want to upgrade disappears from the main window while all the modules that ship already has are present in the module window but can not be selected for removal. I just reconstructed this problem. When I first tried to upgrade Colony ship adding hiperdrive plus everything was OK and I saved upgraded ship as Colony L. Next time when I tried to upgrade Colony L by removing hyperdrive plus and adding ion drive the moment I pressed 'upgrade button' Colony L disappeared from the main window and I was unable to select hyperdrive plus for removal although I could see it in the module window.

The only way to upgrade my ships is to press 'new' button and (choosing the same hull) start from the beginning adding modules and then save new design under the same name as the ship I want to upgrade.

That's correct, Citizen Comnenus, there are 2 separate problems that have already been reported. The disappearing image is because Beta4b started storing the saved ship images in a different directory, but the code that's looking for the image is looking in the old spot. Hopefully that can be fixed easily. The problem with not being able to remove modules on an upgrade is a carry over from Beta3 - I hope it will be fixed soon also.

On the Diplomacy screen, Techs (to trade) are listed in alphabetical order. They should be listed in order of value (cost), or there should be some indication of how much techs in the list are worth in RPs.

That is a good idea I agree.

Another bug in shipbuilding window. After I loaded saved game in the list of ships available for building I found that instead of some upgraded ships I have ship modules. So, instead of the upgraded colony ship I had sensors module and instead of upgraded constructor I had colony freezer upgrade. When I saved again and reloaded everything was OK.

1) am option in sound to switch of the interminable 'boom' boom' sound at the end of the turn as the Ai seems to be reviewing something
2)removing and upgrading parts on existing ships - I assume this has yet to be implemented and has already been reported, but each time i want to upgrade a shield on an existing ship i have to clear all and start again as a new design - someone please tell me what I am doing wrong if this is not the case...
3) I think 'normal' difficulty is quite hard and the AI is very aggressive for all races - just a point on ballancing (perhaps I am just useless)

After pressing the key to end the turn, the key never returns. you can move the map ony a small amount in each direction. Have to do a reload to get the game going again, but after several turns, the same problem appears again. this seems to happen midway through the game or later, but not at the beginning. Almost like it got lost cycling through all the things it has to move on the screen and ends up in a loop waiting for something to finish that never does.

Also, games that cras and get restarted cannot always be submitted to the metaverse. Any procedure known to eliminate this problem. I restart the gaem, log on the metaverse, hit the back button since I don't want to start a new game, load the old game at it last or previous autosave.

aaaarg! i have real problems loading auto-saved games - as in I cant! they cause the game to stop responding

Also for some reason I can't boot up the game regularly after it has closed either after a crash, or an end proggy command (i.e after using end prog after a freeze etc)

I've tried playing "Loose Clusters" and "Tight Clusters" on a large map and I can't see any difference between the two. Is that a feature that isn't implemented yet?

Dont know if anyone else has seen this but if I obsolete a custom ship model , but do not decommision any existing ships of that class, subsequent save games cause a CTD on loading. last line in debug.err is (for example):

Debug Message: Can't find ship type MF-2 in definitions

error is repeatable. Win2k SP4 beta 4B
