Disappearing races

Twilight 2.03

I have a serious bug occuring with races not appearing in my Foreign Affairs screen. In the game I was just playing I was in contact with the Arceans, the Drath and I had just met the Yor. But only the Drath were appearing in my Foreign Affairs screen, not the other two. I had encountered this in a previous game but didn't think anything of it. But if this is going to keep recurring, it's going to make this game pretty much unplayable.

Well this bug is happening quite a bit, it's making the game unplayable. And it's happening with 2.02 from the Ultimate Edition, as I reinstalled the game. Once again the only race I had contact with was the Drath, so there might be something about them. This really sucks, I spent $50 for nothing even though I really couldn't afford to do so. I'm unemployed at the moment and the money I spent represents a signifigant sacrifice on my part.

Well this is just great, I can't even switch chapters to go back to Dark Avatar. Not only did I waste my money but a great deal of time as well.

You should put up a bug report, those bugs are not as common as the dreaded Out of Memory bug and as far as I know can be fixed, (maybe)

Well I thought I just did. This thread is called "Bug Reports" after all. It just happened to me again tonight after a complete reinstall for the game and a few hours of playing time. I ran into the Korx but they didn't register in any of the screens he should have. Not Foreign Affairs, or Espionage, or Stats & Graphs. It's like he wasn't even in the game. With no info on a race and no way to contact them, you're pretty much screwed.

I thought that myself but check the "How to sumbit a bug report" thread up there, it tells you how to send a mail to the support staff (I think) by the way the debug file is located in your My Games/Gal Civ Twilight (whathever something) folder in Documents.

OK, thanks for the info, I'll be sure to do that. It just so happens I have a save game where it happens with the Korx.

Where am I supposed to find this debug.err file? I don't see it anywhere, at least not in any main folders.

PS: Nevermind, I found it. I didn't think to look in the My Documents folder.

Youre welcome let me know if they got back to you (usually it takes 2-3 days tops for them to send an update)

Well I got a basic response so far but nothing else. Fortunately I was also able to send them a save game as well, so that should help. Provided it's not some hardware conflict on my part. I doubt it though as I never had this problem with DA. I sure hope they can figure it out because it's annoying as hell. I was a few hours into what was shaping up to be a really good game only to discover that the Thalans weren't showing up and I had to scrap it. It makes it difficult to even want to play a game if I know I'll have to scrap it later on. I'm playing Immense maps so it could be hours before I come across everyone and know that it's working as it should.
