I'm very sorry and offer my sincerest apologies, but I won't be able to complete my game this round. Even though I'm not one of the best players, I hate to leave my team a man down. However, I'd like to stay on the roster, as the situation hopefully will be resolved before the end of the round, so we're back at full strength for round eleven.

btw everyone, with the consent of all the members on the A-Team, i've agreed to step up as team captain, so Silver and Jeff won't have to share the limited duties (hehehe, duty) any longer.

so good luck to the other teams, it'll be fun to watch you fight over the A-Team's sloppy seconds.

That's correct. It's about a week and a half into the round, so maybe give them a little more time to respond/show up? If two replacement games are needed, you and DA can each do one, and if its just one, then one of you will be randomly selected to do the replacement game. I think that's how it's been done in the past.

and seriously, KP, do you know how annoying it is to top 17.5K in a Political Victory

If it wasn't for the econ issue I was having, my mil score would have been much better for an ending and I think I could have gotten closer to him. I didn't have the economy to field the military/research that I was doing. The last year of the game was run on the red line. Once I got my dreadnought my economy really started to sink. That's the only reason I pulled the plug on the game when I did...I couldn't afford it no longer.

All excuses aside, I was STOKED to have gotten a suicidal victory in TA w/ it not being a ZYW. I'm more of a Tough-level guy, since I never really ventured beyond for any other reason. I honestly think some of it was luck. Just for kicks, I'll keep plugging away for a diplo win for the fun of it to see if I can at least replicate what I just did yesterday.

So as KP said when he said I should poke my head in over here...you get to do things you normally wouldn't do.

Nah, if you'd have seen some of the lucky things here and there you'd agree with me. Very well timed Creativity procs to finish a techs I direly needed (cutting off at least 10 weeks each time), a cash anomaly right as I dip below -500. Things that involved no skill, but if they hadn't happened I would have sank.

We'll see if I get anything near to those numbers (or even a win) in the time being. I had some hard times on Tough & Crippling. If I was skilled, then I should have breezed through them no?

And with any luck thats just for starters!

I have made the unilateral decision to open up the Vice Commissioner position for nominations. There are a few reasons for this. 1) When I was going to step down last month, we had a shortfall of nominations and in the end some raw nerves after some bad communication got in the way- eventually it was handled by me retaining the Commissionership, but obviously, it could have been mitigated with an active VC at the time, and unfortunately, FB is also out for the summer. 2) I would like to have a strong "right-hand" person to help me run the MVL. I do still have RL to work with, and school starts at the end of the month, taking up even more of my time. I am not planning on stepping down as Commissioner at the present time, but an active and empowered Vice-Commissioner would allow for a more continually smooth MVL. 3) With all respect to my good friend FireBender, I can't continue to have a position that has been basically laying fallow for the past two-three months already, and possibly another two or more.

That all being said, I do have stipulations on how the nomination process will work, and it IS a bit harsh, but basically I want everyone to look at the Vice Commissioner position very seriously in this case, as basically an extension of the Commissioner's Office.

1)A person may nominate ONLY themselves; I don't feel like sifting through twenty replies of "I nominate So-and-So" only to have them decline two pages later.

2)A player may nominate him/herself only if they have played and completed at least TWO full rounds in the MVL.

3)A nomination must be ACCEPTED and ANNOUNCED by the Commissioner to be considered Valid. I will send nominees a PM if I have reservations on their nomination of themselves, addressing my concerns, and allowing them a chance to argue their nomination, at which time I will either Accept or Decline their bid.

Note, none of those bullet holes are in strategic places. Every one of them hit an un-needed support member.
