spawning anomolies?

Hey All

Bought and downloaded the twilight addon and tried out a game or 2 . Since when do anomolies continue to spawn throu the game and is it possible to turn this off?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Only if you turn of anomalies altogether.

I have a counter-question, though. Why, if you like them on at the beginning, do you want them to not keep spawning? I myself rather enjoy it.

I don't believe you can turn this off. It started in 1.8 somewhere, didn't it? I'm too lazy to look at the change log, but you are welcome to.

It started either in 1.8 or 1.7. Note that you can't turn anomalies off completely, just set them to 'rare'.

I wouldn't turn off spawning if the option were there, but I do sometimes find a new anomoly occupying a spot I need for a starbase array in mid and late game. That means I have to manually get a surveyor to it (usually from far away) or build another one just to clear that spot.

I like the re-spawning anomalies up until about halfway through a game. At that point the bonuses are minimal by relative value, and its just one more pop-up I have to click away.

You can disable the popups in the options menu. ;)

Great....thanks. :) I never looked, because before the advent of respawning, I always want to see what I get getting in the initial stages of the game. Later on though, I definitely want the pop-ups off.

What I'd like is a notification icon instead of a popup, though... Easier to dismiss, but you still get the information what was found.

Only thing about the respawning anomolies in DA is the AI not building any other survey ships. The game I just finished, after the first round of wars I was the only one with my flagship left. He just spent the rest of the game going around collecting all the ones that spawned with no competition. The may have fixed that in TA, hadn't really looked yet.

I noticed that too...you can really clean up the anomalies in the later game.

I usually build 2-3 few cheap anomaly chasers early-game in TA. Just stick 'em on auto and let the bonuses roll in. Those 1000-BC goodie-huts are just too good to ignore, and any extra cash is almost necessary given how harsh the early game economic picture in TA has become. Then, I upgrade them to fast missile boats or something for shipping-line raids later. When I saw the first respawn I was like "Wow... there's actually a *reason* to keep the survey module on the design, and a reason *not* to trade-away level-1 sensors early." (Assuming, of course, that the AI will make use of the thing in new ship designs.)
