Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

I was playing the latest version of Dread Lords last night (not Dark Avatar... I didn't buy the expansion because I didn't think I'd play enough to justify the extra cost... hah!), and something strange happened...

I was playing as the Korx, and early in the game I'd had a war with the Drath.  We signed a peace treaty when things started looking hairy for me, and the galaxy continued in relative peace.  I then ended up in a war with the Iconians, and was midway through invading their worlds when one of my transports was attacked by a Drath Heavy Fighter.

My first reaction was "Oh balls", since the Drath were the strongest military power at that point.  However, I checked the foreign relations screen, and our relations were "Neutral".  Next turn, I attacked and destroyed the fighter, and our relations still did not change.  I wasn't prompted to declare war

I'm guessing one of the following is true:

- there's a bug in the game
- the Drath sold/gave the ship to the Iconians, and the name wasn't changed
- an Iconian fighter showed as a Drath fighter due to some other glitch
- I was sleep-deprived and hallucinating

Any ideas?

#4, maybe.

#2, most probably.
If the Drath sold the ship it would have the color of the Iconians, but it would retain the Drath name.

Ah, sounds like #2 then... I think it was the same colour as the Iconian ships. Odd that the name doesn't change when the ship is sold though. Cheers for clearing that up!

The name never changes when the ship is sold, just for future reference!

If I'm going to sell some ships to the AI I rename them to something like "we suck" or "cannon fodder". I get a chuckle when the AI sends them at me later, and it lets me see where the AI has been sending my ships and what effect my trade had on them throughout the game. :)

Lol yeah, that works.

I usually name them "Race" Gift "Number" because I simply cannot be bothered to jot down the names and numbers of the ships I want to gift, and giving away the wrong ships can be a pain.
I once encountered a gifted ship of mine on the opposite side of the huge map...

I name all my ships stuff like "lil' crapper" or "crappier than others". Maybe I'm not getting immersed in the game as much, but I prefer if there are sexual or scatological references in the names of all my ships.
