Forums are Back Up

Huzzah!

We've completed our work for the night and the forums are back up and running.  You'll notice a number of visual changes, and you'll hopefully notice improved speed and general performance.

Please post any issues you run into here.  We've done a lot of testing this past week and tonight, but if something slipped through we want to know so it can be fixed quickly.

Thank you all for your patience.

Hi! I'm not able to edit my post. I can make corrections, not they're but saved. "Enters" obviously do work. BR, Iztok

I'm getting the same thing with the tiny reply box on Maxthon. Otherwise nice look :)

Hi!
- Firefox gives proper size of the text window.

- "Enters" work only at the first post. When I refresh the page, they're gone again.

- Editing my post works, but isn't visible at the submit. I need to refresh the page to see edited post.

Yes, very narrow reply box.
In fact, everything seems more narrow, which I don't really like. But the reply box is the most annoying.

Just testing "enters".

And I don't like the smaller default font, either. And why can't you let us edit our posts at any time, instead of only when it is the most recent post?

I am using IE 7, and have tried and failed to edit my last post - twice.

And why can't you set it up to let us edit any of our posts at any time, instead of only when it is the most recent post?

It may be a bit faster, but so far I am not so impressed by the changes.

Just testing the buttons
Code: html
  1. on the editor.
The most interesting one is the button that expands the editor to the left side of the screen.

I like the button that expands the editor to the left side of the screen, but I have to "collapse" to submit the post.

:CONGRAT: Interesting stuff, but I do agree that the Member No: xxx xxx xxx could be more like

Member No:
xxx.xxx.xxx instead of just completely together horizontally.

I tried to report an error using the "advanced mode" button on the bottom of the forum page, but the reply isn't showing up. If this quick reply works, I'll resubmit the error one.

After going to the last page in a thread, an error pops up if I try to view a previous page. The error looks like the following...

Try using Firefox.

In Opera, the Reply box seems OK, but the quote function doesn't seem to be working as expected--I tried selecting just

I don't like the smaller default font, either.
End of quote

But I got the whole post.

Tried posting a reply with a quote and got a hang-up. Testing plain typing in Opera. (edit) Now the post I thought was destroyed is visible. Sure wish Edit include a button to delete the post.

Well, the reply box is really small at the bottom of the screen...

And also, the pictures in the Databank (for each section) aren't displaying, and I cannot view the Game Examples link.

Hm. I'm having no problem with the reply box, it's as large as it has always been. Same fontsize, too.

The My Replies list no longer seems to track whether I've visited since the last post in a thread. All items appear bold all the time.

Microscopic white text on Black Background....capillaries bursting...eyes bleeding... I wouldnt have thought it possible that the forums could have been any more difficult to read than they already were, but the even smaller text seems to have done the trick. I do apreciate Stardock's continued efforts to improve the community experience though. Some visual issues I was having when I viewed the site in Opera seem to be fixed, and performance seems decent.

For what it's worth I'm seeing the tiny reply box as well.

When I enlarge the editor it then moves to the top left of the thread (which in long threads can be a great deal of scrolling up to find).

If it helps:

IE Version: 6.0.2900.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300

running on Windows XP.

It took me 3 tries before an edited reply would post. Also, the post has no formatting. It looks like one long sentence. Line feeds or returns don't show up in the edited post, but they do show in the reply box.
