The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived and you shall know pain. We are recruiting new members. While it seems rather popular to be "anti-Kzinti" we are not. Competition is a good thing and we are looking for active players. While a "new" empire we are collective of folks from the old Arrakis Imperium and Galactic Empire. Noobs and old timers welcome :)

Yeah I noticed the YZW score padding too. Seems a bit cheesy to me but to each their own. Anyway, I'm starting a new campaign soon too so we can get to 9th rank sooner rather than later.

I do agree to some degree....definitely a cheese factor. I resisted doing them for a while, but they are somewhat interesting, and you can complete a game in less than 15 minutes once you get the hang of it. It's a nice option not to have to spend 5-10 hours on a game if you dont have the time. If you look at Kryo's profile, he actually did number of them way back before anybody else realized the possibility.

Think of it perhaps not so cheesy or "padding" for a top 25 spot, and more along the lines of a different means to an end for getting medals others don't have simply by joining an empire...its all in how you look at it  :CONGRAT:

The ZYWs are no secret....Wyndstar posted an AAR of his on the MVL Round 6 thread on pages 13-15. This is mainly how this tactic came to be known by more people. The Kzinti will gladly share any refinements that have been developed of the initial tactics, with our friends in the Yuuzhan Vong. Personally, I've almost matched Neilo's record score of 32k a number of times. A few more tweaks, and I should be there.

Secrets? I have pretty much shared all i know on the matter with many rivals of the ToE, KP and TorontoRock expecailly. I admit i have left out 1 crucial detail that enabled me to nearly break 33K, but there needs to be some mystery.

Regardless, a smart player will work out what i did pretty quickly, KP is nearly there now.

I'm not sure it's cheesy, it's a legitamate game and win. No different to using every trick in the book to score 500K+ on a giga abundant all. All it is doing is using the game's stucture to your ultimate advantage.

Playing as many games as i have to get MV achievements is what the Metaverse is about. Show me a better way to get the next achievement after 100 wins in a reasonable time frame and i'll do that.

Check out my latest, Neilo....32,550! So close to breaking your record, doh! :) I replayed this one about 6 times trying to eke out every last point, and that was the best score. Guess I better start using spore.

Vuk, i think the rivalry's in the MV at the moment are awesome to have and the friendly taunting that goes on, especailly bewteen the ToE and the Kzinti shows what fun the MV is.

Ok, having a bit of YZW difficulty. I've read the MVL round 6 posts. What planet and tech settings should I be using. I have been using abundant / abundant and normal tech setting and thus far, no luck. Suggestions gentlemen?

Go with very fast, tiny, one opponent, minimum everything habitable. The fewer planets and fewer opponents you've got to deal with, the easier ZYWs are. The same goes for the faster the research the easier they are. Abundant anomalies are helpful though. Hope that helps. :)

Yup well covered. Also in DA, be sure to set the number of minors to maximum and enable tech trading.

There is also alot that you need to do with your race settings too. Though a ZYW on April 8th is achievable with all the races, it is far easier using the Altarians and taking ability points in research, added to using the tech party you have a good platform to build off.

Of course using an ARC with Altarian/Spore makes life alot easier but is not necessary.

Joined the YZW club myself today. Thanks for the info Vuk but I'm still having trouble breaking the 17k barrier. I think I'll keep playing Piter De Vries as a YZW shill and see if I can get any better at it. That should help the empire move up a bit.

Foolish food species. The Arrakis Imperium used face dancers to inflitrate an subvert the Galactic Empire. Once we had Nihilus, Maul and Vader on our side, the rest was easy. Not an alliance as you stated, nor even a merger as Neilo suggested. More like a hostile take-over. To make the occupation of the Empire more acceptable to the new subjects of the Arrakis Imperium, we changed the name of our "new" empire to the Yuuzhan Vong. It seemed fitting as they were the hostile invaders of the Star Wars universe. Nihilus will verify this I'm sure when he sees the post.

I think the Xionians are a bit on the dark side today. So yet another Dark race we are to bend towards our reason. Shall you for an alliance with us to maintain a peace with us machines? NO we are not Autobots, far smaller and far more powerful if i might say so :D.

I had to keep resizing it, so I may go back later and fix it up some more.

And yeah, I could pass on the cigar smoke too but something that can be looked into. I wouldn't even mind reviving the Metaverse Council to be honest, but I think some overall would definitely be in order; I think, and i must state as a Non-Councilor, this is strictly opinion, but they got inundated by the bureaucracy of it all.

I do know that I personally feel that any form of the MVC, old, new, or re-imagined, should be public.

The only still active MVC councilors that I know of personally, are Neilo, Mumblefratz, and Wyndstar. I think MarshallONeil may have been one too.

Here are some of my more serious proposals:

Coordinating with Wyndstar and the Devs with the Tourneys. Much like the original idea by Ghostwes last summer (that evolved into the MVL) since its all the exact same scenario played by everyone, we could easily have Inter-Empire Games.

Promoting the MVL. And finally, really trying to see what obstacles stand in the way of integrating into the AltMeta.

Supporting and increasing the MV Empires both new and old, such as having their respective emperors and most vocal members being able to communicate in a public central locale to spur new ideas, MV issues, and friendly taunting. The OP would list each empire and a very brief summary. Basically, one thread that links to all the empires main pages.

Reinstating and expanding on the link between the Player and the Developers. The MVC had/has this but due to almost a year's worth on inactivity on the part of the MVC, something that could be reinstated and expanded upon.
