Yuuzhan Vong

Yuuzhan Vong

Peace is not the natural state of the Universe

The Yuuzhan Vong have arrived and you shall know pain. We are recruiting new members. While it seems rather popular to be "anti-Kzinti" we are not. Competition is a good thing and we are looking for active players. While a "new" empire we are collective of folks from the old Arrakis Imperium and Galactic Empire. Noobs and old timers welcome :)

Greetings Senators and Overlords,

The Yuuzhan Vong continues to expand across the metaverse. We are currently ranked #12 on the metaverse and #6 on the Alt Meta. Thank you to both Darth Nihilus and Hidar Fen Ajidica for your contributions. I have sent out some invites, primarily to folks I've noticeds as being active in the forums. Apologies if I recruited among active empires. I'm trying to still to independents and dead empires as to avoid stepping on any toes.

So with that said we are still welcoming new recruits. Though some of us are using Stars Wars and Dune characters, this is not a requirements. The The Yuuhzan Vong welcome all predators.... Prey species are asked to come in large numbers please.

I have a good campaign about midway through right now. I will certain be for at least 50k towards the empire. I've seen the cntrl-n error once but I just started a new game because I new it would give a pitiful score. Any word on when the new expansion will be finished and mv compatible?

Ahh, I see we've reoragnized.
I was confused as to what happened to the Imperium.

I am almost finished with my campaign. Don't expect much in the way of games from me though, at least until May.
Would that be May of 2225, 2226, or 2227? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I'm not thinking THAT far into the future.

Good to see the Great Emperor has returned as well. I'll b4e starting another campaign soon myself. I'm still experimenting with using the Yor as my template for the Yuuzhan Vong when I play. The isolationist aspect of the Yor I think plays well with the Yuuzhan Vong. Natural I switchup the images to organic rather than technological stuff.

I will have another game posted in the next few days. Lord Vader is current crushing the life out of a galaxy far far away. I could not have asked for a better start. 700% manufacturing bonus on homeworld and plent of decent planets around, slightly better than what the other empries got. I have ridden a wave of economic boom to psionic beams and already subjugated 2 major empires and 3 minors. Currently have an alliance with the Korath and friendly with the Drengin. I'll keep it this way until the Arceans, Altarians and Thalans are gone then I will most likely crush the Drengin before turning on the Korath. Such is the nature of evil.....

Most Excellent prgresss Lord Nihilus,

I have started another campaign myself. We have moved back into the #11 metaverse empire rank amd but have fallen to #7th in the Alt Meta system, the Olympian Gods having moved into the #6 seat. We'll have to do something abot that asap. I believe we are still on course to return to the Galactic Map within the next few weeks. The blasphemous Auri (empire of cheaters) has fallen behind us once again. The Colonial Fleet is within our grasp with just a few more posts. Then the real push starts as we take aim at the first of the larger "Dead Empires," the Qourth.

Nihilus and Hidar, you two will certainly be instrumental in getting us there. While the vast majority of my scores are no longer subject to metaverse "decay," the fact that I have some many posts under my belt means my contributions have less of an impacton the Metaverse score but I can still kick butt on the Alt Meta. Once I have Zonama Sekot firmly in the top 25, I'll switch to my other characters to assist in the charge up the chart. Our own little version of the "Surge" if you will. Space Chopper and I have been fighting back and forth for chart positioning, Kzinti furball ;)

While it's good to see the Great Emperor return we are definitely need to start recruiting new members. Any suggestions?

Not sure how to get more folks involved. I think it will be very helpful to get back on the Galactic Map asap. I plan on starting another campaign later this week. I'll keep things balanced among my gholas to maximize points as well. We definitely need to get some submissions in.

Personally, I'm just glad you guys are active; too many "dead" empires still floating around. You have some work to do if you want to catch up with me and the Olympian Gods though :D
Reply #38 Top
Yes on the Alt Meta we need to put in some work but we still have a healthy lead in our charge towards the Galactic Map. Of all the dead empire "floaters," I'm most amazed that the Overmind has held up as well as it has. Truely a testament to the massive scores of some of its players and the sheer number of members who "died" with it.

Just finished another campaign and will start another soon. I have been using the Yor as a template for my campaigns. This seems to make for a very aggressive style of play. Other empires start declaring war as soon as I wipe out the first 2 minor empires. This is consistently the case and at the maso level they rufes to consider peace treaties until I have a very clear military advantage. By then I could care less if they want peace.

I like using the Yor because the isolationist approach feels as if it fits with the Yuuzhan Vong. I have changed the images and ship hull designs associated with the race to reflect a more organic feel. I enjoy using the speed limitations upon enemies to my advantage. I maximize culutural to keep the boundaries around my planets as far out as possible.

My recent campaign is almost at a finish. I subverted a rouge Altarian world and brought it under my rule. The beggining was tough and I was trapped in a pocket of space with little planets(though everything was at abundant). Through the overtaxation and repression of the populace I was able, however, to extend myself to a modest 20-30 planets by the end of the first phase of colonization. To my east lay the Korx to my North(squezed into a corner) the Terran, to my north west the Coldradian Empire(one of my own creations, a very agressive AI), and to my south the Drath and the Drenging. I was in the almost middle of the map, and quite regeretted it.

Because of the path I had to take in active colonization my military developed very slowly. However my altarian setup alowd me to stay ahead in research and at least 3/4 in economy. I felt nervous though, the Terran had build up a large force and had colonized several 20+ planets near their homeworld. Not only that, but their long distance colony ships landed behind me to the south, almost trapping me in a sphere of their influence. Wars started near the end of the first year and the populace was in panic. No wars against us were declared, but huge fleets of Korx, Coldrdian, and Drengin ships moved through our territories.

Pressed for action by the newly elected Democractic Senate, I began an agressive miltary program. The first ship was a meek, but sturdy Patroler design. It carried the finest in our weapons and hyperdrive technology. It only had 1 laser damage, but it moved 3 pc, making it quite quick at the time period. These were soon stationed across my quite vast area of space. I continued to research up the laser tech tree, and then the worst happened.

The Terran had risen to be the major force of the galaxy. While the other empires battled for superiority they sat in their corner and build huge fleets and economy that doulbe everyone elses. Once they saw me as an easy threat to take out, they declared war. Now things got realy ugly. My territories were ravaged by at least 10 terran fleets at a time, I was just about to order for evacuation. But I relised, that for all the Terran millitary migh, their fleets were wimpy beyond reason. And thanks to the millitary crystal my slaves mined from our vast collection of resources my meek army had at least a 50% bonus, helping keep my planets safe.

It soon got annoying though, having all these terran ships everywhere, so I ordered a new design to help avenge... um... all the space that the terran took up that could be put to such better use under my rule. The ship design was called the Redeemer. It began at 4 laser damage, and 3 speed, but it became the most mainstreamed and powerful design ever to come out of my foundries and spaceports. Several were built, and the cleaning began. In under a year I had my territory mostly liberated, with a few scattered Terran ships remaining. In this time the Redeemer went through two revisions, makign it have an attack raiting of 9 and defense raiting of 2(missle).

This is when the first Terran worlds began to fall. I took at least a dozne of their fringe world's in under two months or less. These worlds were mostly extreme enviornments, but were 12+ class worlds, so they becaim my prized possisions. However a sally into the Terran Corner was repelled every time. Though my fleets were more powerful the Terran outnumbered me 3:1. How they managed to produce that many ships were beyond my logicians and engineers, but the war didn't wait for answers to such questions. Instead I desided to make the Redeemer have one last refit, to end the war once and for all.

The Redeemer MD-2 came out to the lines early spring of '29. It carried an array of the latest phase weaponry boosting it to an attack of 17 and a defense of 14. This made the ship practically invulnerable, and with our new discovery of Micro Repair bots these ships survived dozens of battles. In less then half a year I took another dozen Terran worlds, and the first call for peace came from their side. I said no, I wanted Earth, and their two 20+ class worlds. So the war still goes on. Will I win? Probably, but the game did look very bleak at times.

Nice storyline and a good illustration of how the games get a life of their own.

Nice narrative Great Emperor. I still have a campaign in progress but must report that I have started a 2nd campaign as well. The Akillians have had the extreme misfortune of being placed right next to my homeworld and they occupied a class 26 planet. Their continued exsistence as a free people has very dire prospects...

How did the Akilians start with a class 26 planet? I've never seen a minor race with anything other than the standard starting homeworld. Are you running with some mods?

Well i have seen stranger things...like the Carinoids colonizing another planet in 1 of my latest MVL games. Id like the minors to have a a bit more to them. Higher PQ planets and the ability to colonize is a good start.

I've seen the minors colonize other planets a number of times, including the game I'm currently playing where the Snathi and one other minor civ had each colonized an additional planet. I've never seen a minor homeworld be any different though. They dont get the ethical choice dilemnas that would lead to any change.

I think in ToA the minors are souped-up, but I havent tried it yet.

Emperor Vukasika,

With the submission of my last campaign, the Yuuzhan Vong will have claimed its rightful position on the Galactic Map when next the Metaverse updates. We are once more a top 10 empire having risen from the ashes of the Galactic Empire and the Arrakis Imperium.

Death to all who oppose us,
